  1. I deleted your newels and the landing disappeared. Then I remade the outline of the old landing with railing walls, thus created a space and name it a deck.
  2. Not sure how you built your railing wall but I just deleted what you didn't want and made the landing a space and named it a deck. (I turned the railings off)
  3. Yeah I thought about that. However I tried different tolerances before and it just won't slide into place. Just once less step to hit in in 3d when I am doing a walk through.
  4. Sure do wish I could get walls to slide into place in X13 in 3d view. I have to go into a plan view to get this command to work now. Anyone else notice this?
  5. Thanks guys! I will try your methods.
  6. Would you guys use a Molding Pline or Frieze Board set to the proper dentil molding for this? Dentil Molding is not common on my homes I do.
  7. I hear ya......a lot times I build the posts and beams manually because of the offsets.
  8. Thanks chop and rob. Both ways worked. The beam is even centered too.
  9. So, I have the posts offset at 4" but cannot figure out the option to offset the balusters too.
  10. Sounds cool Rene, link? Sounds like something I have done before chopsaw but not with actual walls just pline solids. Cool idea though. Roof planes, never thought of that.
  11. Sometimes you can get away with pline solids for chimneys. In this case I don't want to do that. I have a 2 story home with attic space. What are some techniques you guys use to transition the exterior 1st floor walls to the 2nd floor tapered walls for he chimney?

    Walls

So that's what the wall covering does. Now I know!

    Walls

Very interesting guys. I never knew that. So, I added 1/16" to the color and it worked/ I did a molding pline for the island wall. Why doesn't chief recognize the end of the wall and let it expose the wall stud?

    Walls

Sometimes I can add these type walls and they come in fully enclosed in drywall and molding and sometimes not. What determines this? Shown is a kitchen island with a half wall (plumbing) with no molding and then a simple wall closing off a fridge.
  16. Hello guys, I'm back in town and reading these replies. So, it turns out, my issue was the driver. I posted the thread on 7/28/21 and with SSA on the phone we looked at the AMD site and they had just released another update on 7/27/21. I had to turn off a setting in windows to allow the new driver update and what do you know, problem solved. Vector views are crisp and sharp and standard view doesn't have all these colored lines shooting everywhere.
  17. I got off the phone with Chief about an hour ago after having your issues. My vector views were horrible. Apparently there was yet another upgrade to my driver we found and now I am back to crisp and sharp renderings.
  18. I do mine similar to this and use the caps provided in the library......
  19. Good feedback guys. I was gonna wait till December to upgrade my PC but I may be having to do that earlier. None of this was to hate on X13 but when you do this for a living, I don't need these headaches.
  20. I have kept delaying posting this issue for weeks but now It's getting irritating. If you have seen my posts for the past 2.5 years you know I speak highly of this software. But X13 is costing me time. X11 & X12 were flawless. Now, I find myself losing work several times a day from all the crashing. If I need a new computer (in sig) to run this let me know because time is money. This just will not work and is unacceptable. All my drivers are up to date and this whole new rendering thing they say is different isn't the best and it's not just the rendering causing the crashes. Has anyone else experienced this? I want to go back to X12 but all 7 of my projects are currently in X13.
  21. 10-4......I am due for a PC upgrade this year and want to get a bad ass one, better than the one I have. The homes I am getting are more detailed and larger every day.
  22. Cool, 3 years on the software and still learning new tricks.
  23. So, apparently, I learned something not to do. I am working a exterior rendering of an existing home with a lot of windows and don't want to see the inside of the home. I made all the glass "mirror" and it really bogged down my PC and it crashed several times. After changing it to a colored glass it went smooth again. Does mirror glass try and reflect too much on perspective views? My PC stays quiet but sounded overloaded with mirrored glass.
