I agree and have thought about this but I would only print when they are 100% happy and no more changes to the home which would cut down printer usage. It would also be beneficial to have a full size print of the floorplan to markup during meetings without having to run down the road for the 3 sheet minimum. My 8.5X11 prints just won't cut it as it is now.

yeah, I have searched for laser jets but no luck for this size.

Right now I just charge for what it costs me at the plot shop which is roughly $2 a sheet. Most people want atleast two prints and I average about 18 sheets for a set of plans. I do multiple homes per month so $900 won't hurt me nowadays. Tax write off as well. They have this printer in a local office depot. They charge $3 a sheet and it prints damn good. awesome clarity.

I charge for prints per sheet whether I use a plot shop or were to buy a printer. I am looking at some HP printers for about a grand. I don't want any big obnoxious ones taking up space on a stand. Here is one that got my attention a while back.......for what I need it for this will be just fine since I won't print on a daily basis.

very true....looking at some HP 24" printers. It will pay for itself in no time.

Just wondering what you all may use these for. They make for a more professional set of plans in my opinion but prints can be nasty if the ink settings are off.

I even tried that 1.4375" on the stemwall air gap but apparently had it on the main layer. Thanks

yezzir! throw me a hint

Sorry guys but I have been fighting wall settings for a while tonight. Why wont the foundation build to the edge of the stud instead of the OSB? It is throwing my foundation plan dims off by 2" overall from the floorplan. Sick of these brick walls this week. I go from all siding exterior walls in 2021 to everyone wanting all brick 4 days into 2022 haha.

Nice! That helps a lot and makes sense.

New PC is on the way, once I receive I will use my old PC for presentations at my front table and work from my new PC in the back office. Can I load chief on both PC's? If not, I guess I can use the chief 3d viewer for client presentations.

curved wall (something I never use) actually works too guys.

you are correct chop, let me give your suggestion a try.

Is there a way to slice curved polyline solids as shown with the red line? I am experimenting with these steps I built manually......

Yes sir! Placing my order for the R12 32 gig rtx 3080 tonight or tomorrow. Tax write off. Can anyone suggest what is better? Gaming monitor or 4k for what we do in chief?

So the change doesn't happen until you get back into another 3d view from what I understand.

Curious to know exactly what this does. I never see any change once I chose the command.

This!

Holy cow, that would never fly around here. They are strict! Everything down to a single detached garage or pole barn has to be engineer stamped. Yet an hour from here in my hometown I just finished a 4k Sq Foot home that doesn't have to be stamped. Kind of wish it was though, I like engineer's being liable.

Unless the homeowner has other sheets saved all I have is the elevations and floorplan. BUT, the elevations do not even have story pole dims nor material callouts. Very generic.
-
It makes no sense to dimension this way for sure. I am not one to call out others for mistakes but damn, the brick isn't even scaled evenly so how can a framer lay this out? I was hired by the homeowner to modify it, which was never built, and it is going to make my job harder but I have my secrets to get it done. From the sheets I have it is just the floor plan and 4 elevations so I am thinking it wasn't a buildable set in the first place. Again, i'm just saying, not cutting anyone down.

Is it just me or should this screenshot, from a previous designer, be dimensioned from the stud walls not the brick?
