Very similar to Sherry- Once I have created the plan for a builder they can pay a re-issue fee of 500.00 and an hourly rate for revisions such as siding or roof changes- mirrored plans- site plan prep - etc...

Not sure what your total involvement in this project is but there looks to be several issues with the structure. The header at the dormer looks too small and so do the rafters. In general the rafters look to small for the spans I see and certainly to get proper insulation and ventilation. Hard to tell what else from the pics but I would guess there are other concerns- may be a good idea to get an engineer involved. As for drawing the framing in CA you may be able to auto generate a good portion of the members and then go back and manipulate the remainder manually.

I realize that this is not really a CA related question but I don't frequent any other chat rooms and I put quite a bit of weight in the opinions of the members of this forum. I am looking for an app to access files on my computer from my tablet or phone.( Samsung S5 and Samsung tablet.) When I had a Motorola phone previously they had an app called Motocast that I really liked. I could view my documents on my phone just as I saw them on my office computer- then copy them to the phone for viewing or forwarding. I don't want a remote desktop - more of a file access app. any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Thanks Shane- That's the ticket Much appreciated

I have to create an ADA ramp- sidewalk detail for a project. Was just wondering if anyone had a cad detail that they would be willing to share. thanks

We need an align top or bottom of footing tool? Make same as this one..
RL-inc replied to zowie123's topic in General Q & A
That would be a great addition- breaking and dragging foundation walls up and down in elevation views get sold in a hurry. -
Agreed with Joe on the transform- replicate tool
-
Count me in for that

All makes sense now- thanks for the time Joe -
Layer set changing in multiple plan views instead of just the one I want

I get you now- I guess I just never really noticed it before. Totally agree that his is something that should be implemented in the next release. Sorry for the wild goose chase. -
Layer set changing in multiple plan views instead of just the one I want
RL-inc replied to RL-inc's topic in General Q & A
LOT 78 CD.layoutLOT 78 CD.plan I Have done all of the above- tried opening old plan files that were created in different templates. you name it. The files I have attached here are the plan and layout that I had created before I copied it. (I used the copied versions to try importing different layer and anno sets so I wouldn't screw up a set of in-progress working drawings.) Here's what I am getting - from layout open foundation plan, ok no worries- opens to new window with foundation on floor 0 and floor framing layer set active. move the screen to other monitor. - from layout open roof framing plan- opens to new window on floor 1 with roof plan layer set active. But now the foundation plan on floor 0 on the other monitor has changed to roof plan layer set also. And tech support is saying this is normal. I may be losing it -
Layer set changing in multiple plan views instead of just the one I want

Joe- When you open a main level floor plan view in one window in say the "main floor plan" set, or whatever you call it and then open the upper floor plan view in the " upper floor plan" set- do the each maintain their appropriate layer sets? Or do the both switch to the same layer set ? -
Layer set changing in multiple plan views instead of just the one I want

Maybe I am crazy but tech support is telling me that this is the way it is working for them and is correct? -
Layer set changing in multiple plan views instead of just the one I want

The odd thing is that it is consistently doing this on all plan files now. -
Layer set changing in multiple plan views instead of just the one I want

I always have a unique name for each view sent to layout. ie- main floor plan set, upper floor plan set, main floor framing set, etc.... I think I see where you are headed though...... -
Layer set changing in multiple plan views instead of just the one I want

uh oh -
I have recently started working with exporting and importing layer and annotation sets and am very excited about the prospect of improving my productivity with more consistent page set-up's. However I have encounter a strange side effect. When I open multiple plan views - either from layout or directly from the plan file- and I change the active layer set in the control box on one plan view, it changes the layer set in all of the plan views I have open. ( Before I started this exercise I could have separate layer sets active for each open plan view.) As usual, I am assuming that I have checked something or changed a default somewhere that I am missing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That did the trick- Thank you
-
I can only assume that I have a simple setting wrong or have it hidden somehow, but when I try to open the project browser in plan or layout I get nothing. it shows that it is checked on the icon but not coming up on the screen.

My engineer has Bluebeam and really likes it- if i go with a pdf converter i would probaly lean that way since i can get some help from him with the learnig curve. I do like the idea of a PDF to DWG converter though- then just impoert into CA and edit. Seems like one less program to learn in an already busy schedule.
-
Or maybe a pdf to dwg converter?
-
Does anyone know of a simple and inexpensive program for editing PDF files? Nothing too extreme- just want to edit text, lines, relocate views, etc....
-
As always- thank you for the advice. A combination of the two did the trick. I will continue to work on the nuances of ray tracing for sure. agreed that a separate forum for this would be a great idea.
-
I realize that I'm not going to master ray tracing overnight but I have looked into many tutorials and can't seem to find any direction on color consistency between the render view and ray trace view.

Thanks for the responses. I will look into some tutorials. also posting plan here LOT 78 CD.zip
