Good afternoon. I am in need of some assistance on some projects. The cad guy I hired is not working out very well and is behind on the projects and the other gentleman I have used before is booked at this time. I need some assistance getting some drawings finalized and some started. A couple are on a tight deadline so experience with Chief and working efficiently i.e. quickly is a plus. Must have CA X15 Premier. If anyone has the time and is interested please send me a private message and I will respond. If you are still interested, I will set up a zoom call to show the project and explain what I need to have done. Once I select someone I'll post it. Thank you.
I'd be happy to help, please give me a call to review.

Thanks very helpful! Is there a way to add pedestals and pavers or decking over the pedestals?
You can specify the flooring, walls, etc as you would in any other room through the DBX for the room or the walls.

Yes, but what difference does the total wall thickness make when all walls are set to align on the main layer outside?
Your problem appears to be in the wall properties and your default settings. This article from the Knowledge base explains it in detail https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00658/specifying-which-wall-layer-exterior-dimensions-locate.html

I am trying to align the upper wall, a pony wall, with the lower wall, a foundation wall.
I have all walls set to align to the main layer.
When I dimension the drawings, the foundation wall and upper walls do not align.
Wha am I doing wrong? Plan is attached.
Thanks in advance.Lane
The total thickness of your lower wall (foundation) is 8" but your pony wall (lower section) is 8 15/16".

Good day How do I show a rooftop deck, parapet wall, scuppers, pedestals, etc in CA? Any good videos templates etc?
You'll need to build a new floor, here's a tutorial from the Knowledge base: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00295/creating-a-flat-parapet-roof.html

It looks like you need to adjust the height of your porch. Best to post the plan so we can get a look at whats going on with your plan.

Palmer:
Follow these steps
- Select your top drawer and then click 'Lock from Auto Resize'
- Select the other two drawers and make sure that "Lock from Auto Resize' is unchecked
- Select the 'Vertical Layout Parent' at the top of the list and then click 'Equalize'
The bottom 2 drawers should now be equal size, Check out this article for more info https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02945/designing-cabinet-fronts.html

Sorry new b question how do I show a sloped terrain in a side clip elevation view?
Use a CrossSection/Elevation camera and make sure the Terrain Permiter layer is turned on.

I have been using Chief Architect since X7...then upgraded to X8. I do not use this platform for my construction drawings but as a tool for 3-D visuals. Looking to upgrade to the current X15. My question is... will I lose all my content developed on X7 and X8? Will all my catalogues migrate with the upgrade?
You can open your files created in earlier versions with X15 but once they are saved in the new version, you cannot open them in an older version. Check out this article from the Knowledge Base https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01209/message-this-plan-cannot-be-opened.html
There is also an issue with the file type used in older versions, more info here https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00279/opening-legacy-files.html

I'm in search of 3D symbols for THG bath fixtures, Hamptons collection. I need sink faucets, bath filler, shower fittings, etc. Does anyone have these in your library that you could share?
-
I'll second what DB said, a picture file is the best way to accomplish this.

Try using a glass panel door with 3 vertical lites and then set the thickness of the muntins to you desired size. In the materials tab, set the glass to a material to match the rest of the door.

Here's a link to Rene's tutorial:

Rob:
Click on the gear icon to the right of the preview panel, that will bring up a drop down menu. From there, click on 'Details' & 'Preview'. You can also do this with the 'Folders' section by right clicking and choosing 'Filter Results'. Rene did a great video on the new library awhile back, if I can find it I'll post it here.

- In the DBX for your roof, click on 'Frieze' and chose a molding profile.
- Then open the DBX for the wall on which the roof is placed and in the 'Roof' section, check 'Include Frieze' in 'Roof Options'
-
Select your rail then:
- Click on 'Newels/Balusters'
- In the 'Newels/Posts' section, enter the desired width and spacing
- In the 'Type' section, click on 'Library' and navigate to your chosen column
- Click on 'Rail Style' from the menu and go to the 'Start /End Posts' section to determine where on the rail you want a column

I downloaded this symbol (attached) from 3D Warehouse for a project I did a few years ago. You can bring it into SU and separate it manually.

Your walls do not align on the exterior because they are two different widths. The wall to the left has a 50mm cladding making it 300mm vs the wall on the right which is only 250mm.
