  1. This is due to the tile image you are using, it is not lit consistently across the surface. To prevent 'tiling', be sure to use a seamless image. If you are taking an image from online, specify a seamless texture to get the best image. There are tools available which can help to reduce the tiling effect, this is one I've used https://www.imgonline.com.ua/eng/make-seamless-texture.php .  You can also try getting your textures from a site such as Polygon. Substance Player is a great program which includes Tile Builder that will let you create your own image file quite easily, here's a ChiefTalk thread on the topic which includes  link to download Substance Player:

  2. Align your walls with the wall below and uncheck 'Attic Wall' in your DBX for the wall ('General' tab) and also uncheck 'No Room Definition'. Which roof planes are you having trouble with? They all seem to be connecting.

It looks like I may have to upgrade my video card. I have an RTX3080 but it's acting weird. Moving up to the RTX4070 seems the logical choice, but which version? Any advice out there?

What's happening with your video, have you idownloaded the most recent video driver?

Which is which? It looks like a difference in monitor settings.

BTW - Your signature didn't update, did you save your changes?

  5. Without seeing your system, the only things I can think of would be to adjust the settings on your monitor and also make sure your video card is running the most recent driver.

It would be helpful for anyone trying to give you advice if you were to complete your signature with your system specs (Signature edit is in the panel on the left side of your account settings page)

  6. Sounds like you need to adjust the brightness on your new monitor. As for the difference in clarity between the laptop and the monitor, the first thing that comes to mind is the resolution of the image you're working with. You didn't state what type of file you are working with (jpg, pdf, plan...) but if the original is low resoution, it may look OK on a laptop sceen (15" - 17"??) as opposed to a larger monitor (24" - 31"???).

A little more information would be helpful.
