  1. I can't inspect your file but the material you specified appears to be a slab and not a tile which means you will not get a pattern with grout lines. The pattern you selected in the 'Pattern' tab does not effect 3D when you are viewing in standard mode (only Technical, Hand Drawn or Vector). Try using Substance Player to make your material:

Stone Designer https://www.stonecurators.com/stone-designer/ also works well

  2. I've done several projects like this and have always created a separate file for each structure which I then convert to a symbol and then bring that symbol into a terrain plan. For positioning the individual buildings, I have always had a site plan from the developer to work with which I import into the terrain plan. As JiAngelo Builders mentioned above, you can easily manipulate the height of the model until it is correct.

  3. From your 'Active Layer Display Options', select the 'All Layers OFF' layer set and then switch on just the layers from the DWG file. You can then select and then delete them.

This may be the first time I've experienced this issue. I found a stone veneer that matches the existing exterior of a house I'm doing some design work for. As you can see from the picture there are several duplicates of the stone I pasted to the wall. Is there a way to cover the entire wall with one instead of multiple? Seems like the material isn't large enough which is ridiculous. Aby suggestions would be helpful.

Here's another option I've employed several times with decent results:

  5. I agree with Mark, adjusting your shade material and emissive value are the key. I also like to add a light source to enhance the scene. I made the following changes to your plan:

    • Changed shade material to Milk Glass (General material, Emissive set at 50)
    • Changed all 3 lights from point to spot (tilt -90, intensity 200)
    • Finally, I added a light source (point, intensity 200) positioned at the center of your fixture (set to a 72" elevation to minimize ceiling wash) and with 'Cast Shadows' switched on
