Next you will need to learn how to post the plan. In there your answer lies.

Thanks for the info Ryan.

If I was sending Vector views that would be true but I am sending WaterColor views. My section view layerset has Walls, Normal at 55.

Thanks Joey, your suggestion did alter my grade line but the edge lines of the elevations are unchanged.

If anyone is bored and wants to experiment....
I am doing a test of the live elevations and line weights. See the attached pdf comparison to a screen shot. What I am trying to do is punch up the elevation lines on color elevations without cad lines. The elevations are set to watercolor and I removed the pattern lines from the shingles so it does not overwhelm the view. The problem is that when printed to pdf with either the CA save as pdf or a 3rd party pdf driver I am not getting any line weight variation.

I sometimes need to draw a cad line that is long enough to be in a clear area. This seems to help the program understand what object I am intending to reflect about.

Roofs build on top of walls. Build some walls then build the roof.

Strange but I can get point to point dimensions to work but none others.

This plan is in V X8 public beta. I am trying to dimension in a section view. I am getting an error that won't let me proceed. Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? This is a plan that was probably started in X6 so it has come forward a few versions. I tried in both a new camera and some of the saved cameras.

Did you reboot after the changes?

Nice sink. Well done Michael.

Zoom in a little tighter and hover about the point you want to snap to.
-
None. The most seamless yet.

You lose the dimension line in the string. The nice part is that the adjacent lines will still maintain their alignment if you adjust the offset. When I am working on dimensions that I need to "hack" I will make a very small cad line and move the dimension to that line. Then click on the line and type in the dimension that you want.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I went for the public beta upgrade and my digital locker is empty.

He used a floor camera?

Thanks for the reminder Nicinus. I thought the last day was Jan 1. Today is the final day to renew SSA at $449. Tomorrow it moves up to $499. On the phone with sales now to renew.

I am happy my SSA does not come due in January.

- In Prospective View the 2 story new construction is not showing floor jsts enclosed etc
Your upstairs walls are called out to be foundation walls. Change that and the spandrel area is fixed
- Stair landing about 18" in not showing the wood floor to living area.
Make a decision on whether you want the floor to join the stairs or the stairs to meet the floor. Move one of them.
- small windows in Bathrooms are showing a horz. divided light and I cannot make it one light or verticle.
I don't understand the problem. Select the window, open the dbx, change the window.

I am not sure what is going on with your plan. Did you bring this forward from X2? There is something wonky with the room definitions and I am not sure how to fix it. Even when I paste your walls into a working plan file I am getting your problem.
To start with, I would grab a template file from your X7 directory and start with that as your base. If this is what you already did than try opening my file and see if it works. You will still need to clean some stuff but it is s starting place. Be sure to look at the annotation sets as this is the big change from X2 that should make your life a lot easier.

It looks like Micheal needs an afternoon coffee. Too slow.
What To Do First

Dude, we are in California. A simple bath remodel does equate to a simple set of drawings in order to get a permit. I got your message and will try and call tomorrow.
For most jurisdictions in Monterey County I have a first page that is just project information, a vicinity map, scope of work, index, contact information, and code notes. Now I have one page fully dedicated to BMP's (required) and Green Building mandatory minimums (required). Monterey county is requiring a page of notes and a site plan dedicated to construction management (where is the material lay down, job site toilet, trash dumpster, truck parking....).
