  1. Does anyone know the cause of this type of error or how to fix it? I am trying to create a symbol. I have been seeing an error on saving but have ignored it since it was not holding up progress. This is V x16

  2. I just completed a request for my plans pdf file to have bookmarks for each page. Is there a way to automate that in the print dbx? Doing a quick search through and I don't see anything. The data would need to capture the page title information and page number per the request I just got. This is a first time request from a jurisdiction that I am working in for the fist time so it caught me be by surprise.

  3. Before I modified the images above I did a quick test on Nano Banana to add some specific landscape in front of my crap plant placements with CA 2d plant images. I did not save that out since it was a quick test but it was very impressive what it did on the first pass/prompt.

  4. First image is the source done with line overlay and PBR. The prompt was to make this image look more realistic. Nano Banana. I am on the free version so the file size is pretty small. It is curious that they changed the image of the artwork. Also the door interior color changed. I did not try to redo for those items.

  5. These are future trouble spots. If it snows where you live, snow will build up here. If it rains where you live, water intrusion is likely due to concentrating the flow of water to these areas. It sounds like this is a project where you will have a strong hand in the construction process/general contractor end or things. I would suggest you reach out to the roofer who is likely to work on this project and get their input regarding a warranty on this roof configuration. It is possible they won't touch it. Either way, research "kick out flashing" before you finish the construction documents.

  6. I manually draw the grade line. It is developed from the topo lines intersection points along the site plan. The CAD line is drawn in the live elevation view. I only use a CAD detail elevation view for interior elevations. The exterior elevations stay live for updates and changes. All of the graphics in that elevation view are in the live view.

  7. I have a plan check request for a WUI compliant garage door opening gasket. I tried to spec the ASSA ALBOY product but I am getting pushback regarding tensile strength. I you work in central or northern California, yes, CSG plan check comments. Do any of you know of a product that you have seen work for this type of need? They are asking for fire and smoke seal. I brought this up with my garage door supplier on a project and he did not have anything to offer besides salty language.

    Thanks,

  8. I think the graphic quality of the physically based rendering has improved dramatically since x14. I lean on that a lot in my presentations and con docs. These plans (partial set) are for a planning submission. I think stopping using those simulated hand drawing styles is important for clarity. The only real reason to use a hand drawn font style is if you hand carry a set of drawings in for a submission and need to write a note and make it blend in (assuming you were properly trained on how to letter for architectural drawings). Otherwise, I want my drawings as readable as possible so I only use Arial font. Avoid using both Rich Text and regular Text. Make a choice and stick with it. I have chosen regular Text since it more easily allows for global changes. Text line weights for the printer that will be used. It is a bit strange now that we often need a hard copy of the set on a site but the majority of viewing of the document is done on a screen.
