That is probably the quickest way to do it. You might also try lowering the floor of the garage by 6". You could then add the slope and higher portions of the slab as a P solid. You might have to do some custom drawing to the section views to make it look right.

How can I create a raised ranch where the first floor is above grade?
javatom replied to EvanDesign's topic in General Q & A
Leave the floor at an elevation of zero. Lower the grade. -
How to Extend Siding Over the Foundation on Selected Walls Only
javatom replied to DefinedDesign's topic in General Q & A
You can make your foundation a pony will with the top wall type set to have siding. -
The wall specification structure box has a setting for "stop at ceiling above". That might help.
-
Place a small room divider (wall type) perpendicular to the wall in question. You can then drag the wall to the room divider and it will stop at that point and not snap back.

deck framing disappears when I delete deck and try and create a new one
javatom replied to Jambruins's topic in General Q & A
Open the room specification and look at the third item from the top. It will say "Deck". Click on that and look to the upper right. There will be an item labeled "automatically regenerate deck framing". Check that box and it will put the framing and planks back in. An alternate method it to define the room as something else like a bedroom or closet than change it back to a deck and it will redo the framing and planks. -
Make the porch wall go out to be just below the fascia.

Door opening not showing in foundation plan.
javatom replied to C2designbyron's topic in General Q & A
You have to place the door on the foundation level not the main floor. -
Make sure the wall above and the foundation wall are aligned and at the exact same angle. Without seeing the plan it is hard to say but I would guess that you have a wall that is 1 or 2 degrees off from the other wall.

I think the "slanted beams" you refer to would be the frieze board. It can be added under the roof specifications. You might think about using a P-solid instead. It appears to go past the edge of the roof all the way to the ground. Make sure your roof structure is set to 2x12 (wild guess). If it is set to something less, the floor framing will try to show outside of the roof. A-frames can take a little bit of manual adjustment to look right but your on the right track.

Use a room divider at the point you want the wall to stop.

Does ANYONE know how to show something like this!?!? Brick Work
javatom replied to BriHarper's topic in Seeking Services
Make a 3 5/8" thick (standard brick size) P solid that is slightly bigger than the chimney. rotate it 45 degrees. Make a second one that is -45 degrees. There are many other ways to do it involving trim or even material regions. -
It is probably the dimension of your roof framing that is making it look like this. You could try a smaller structural element and see if it changes what you see.

It is not possible to install crown on a vaulted ceiling (in the real world). You will hear from know it alls that it is possible but it will look bad. It is just a geometry problem of multiple angles that can not line up.

Do a search on "custom muntins". you can make a cad block and convert it to what ever you want it to look like.

Look at the top of your screen. Find the "Edit" category. Click on it and go down to "Edit behaviors". Look at the menu that pops up and select default.

Without seeing the plan it can be hard to tell. You might try opening the terrain dialog box and set the surface smoothing and triangle count to LOW.

I made the arched roof and let the back of it bear on a straight part of the porch as an overframe since that is how it would get built.

You can use a full height cabinet at the door.

The client would love the design but want the tree changed.

Make the window taller then redo the "match roof".
