  1. This is a cabinet my company made i am trying to replicate. we use 5/8" birch plywood for cabinet boxes
  2. Thanks Marc, so you turned off giid snaps in cabinets( i changed it to .5" increments) and turned off grid snaps in plan, but once that is done what did you do? i made door over size so it hangs over cabinet on either side by 3/4" so the drawer hides gables and doesn't look like a drawer, so if i make cabinet 4.5" wide, drawer face will be 6" wide and i will have a drawer that is about 3" wide fit into 4.5" wide cabinet... Did you resave my custom spice drawer with grid snaps in plan and cabinets off?
  3. i used a revit shelf spice drawer and same thing happened when i went too narrow
  4. here is the plan corbel drawer face art2.zip
  5. I changed min cabinet size to 2” it didn’t help.
  6. i have built a spice drawer but when i make cabinet 6" wide my 4.5" spice drawer disappears, any reason why?
  7. HI Mark, i didn't think i could do edge tape(but that is our standard), sounds like i would have to adjust vertical for different heights? but top and bottom would stay with cabinet? Its typical cabinet construction as you know, even with a melamine particle board core you need to add edge tape, i am surprised chief doesnt take this into consideration. I know there are lots of cheap cabinets out there in just white...but what about all the others? could you show me in more detail what you did for legs and top and bottom?
  8. Thanks Mark, is that drawer box/pullout specification option new? Finally i can show and save what our cabinets actually look like, birch interior cabinets and drawer boxes with finished panels and drawers/doors. I saved the drawer box as a 10" high drawer and it auto adjusts for height. I have fooled around with the bounding box to get drawer box closer to side of cabinet, we use undermount drawer slides which brings drawer side to about 1/8" from cabinet and ca seems to want to make this always larger?
  9. Hi we make all our drawers and cabinet boxes with prefinished birch plywood and install drawer faces and gables in other materials. how would i do this?
  10. Thanks Mark for your reply, I work for a custom cabinetry shop and renovation company, I do the Reno design , sales presentation, budget and project manage. Because we are custom and everything we do is cut on a cnc machine we don’t have a standard price list... when we load everything into cabinet vision it will spit out a price per job.. but it is not done unless we build the cabs and does not present half as well as chief.. so having a price come out of ca that is based off of ca I’d useful, I just need to learn some programming..
  11. Marc.. being the cab ninja .. is there a way to have rollouts or drawers narrower than inside of cabinet carcass? or is this just hard wired into chief? we build all our cabs with refinished birtch plywood.. it would be nice to show the drawer box in birtch with drawer face attached. also since we manufacture carcass with plywood we don’t have integrated side panels.. we use adjustable feet attached to base and attach plant on gables to cab sides where required and kicks are just pinned to front legs.
  12. Wow that is a lot of info.. my brain hurts.. but I wanted to utilize the attributes of say cabinets to automatically price them in the material list. Mark have you managed to do this? i was thinking that for say a base cabinet wxhxd one could calculate plywood for carcass and wxh would give me edge tape on front. Once you have this you could assign labour to assemble carcass and labour to install.. also maybe total number of cabinets in job one could assign a delivery charge per cabinet. Then each drawer wxhxl one could determine plywood for drawer.. wxd would give you edge tape for top of drawer.. then one could again assign labour to build drawer and labour to install on site to add drawer front and align.. drawer front wxh would give one area for material and then cost to finish and cost to paint could be determined.. once all this is saved once any size cabinet would produce a fairly accurate cost. i mostly do renovations and cabinetry is such a large part of cost. We use cabinet vision to manufacture cabs but it doesn’t have the presentation or speed that ca has along with all the other architectural materials. we also use Buildertrend ( cloud based project management software) that can import ca material right into the proposal for pricing.. it would be so automated once design in ca was done all the budgets would be 90% done.
  13. Thanks for reply Micheal, if you have time to show a screen shot on how to do this it would be more helpful to me and others than just do this. I added it as a library item, I don't have a clue how to just add drawer glides to its components? Going into the object and looking at the components it is not obvious or intuitive on how to add things? It automatically adjusts width to the inside of cabinet....not sure how to fix this? And is it possible to show the side glides on shelf when open?
  14. I see all kind of fancy roll outs in revit shelf but not just a rollout for a pantry? Also tried using a refuse fixture in revit...it doesnt insert into cabinet..it wont open when you open drawer...am i missing something? I checked off rollout shelf option in cabinets specification but it doesnt show it as a rollout drawer and it doesnt include glides in material list...how do i make this happen.
  15. HI all, i dont see where the rollout shelves are in the components tab of a full cabinet, is there a way to show these or the shelves?
  16. I have tried spots at 100 and up to 1000/light still does not work in standard view.. but works in pbr
  17. Micheal, I don’t understand your elation with doing away with room label? what was wrong with it? Can you share with us what you do now and why it’s better? Sounds like I’m missing the boat or late to the party.
  18. Well now you can set any number of lights in camera view
  19. Sounds like a bug.. it should work in standard view as well
  20. A little late to the party.. but when boarders install drywall they go right over windows and doors and then cut out openings and throw away ... so how could ca actually calculate drywall if it doesn’t use the total wall including openings? What am I missing? same thing with counters.. I have used custom labels for counter area but if there is a sink ca doesn’t count this hole.. but we still pay for this.. is there a better way of doing this?
  21. Mark I can’t seem to get the spot lights to come on in standard or water colour views? What luminance do you use? so you set up a strip light and then save as symbol so you just drop it in? Have you set up a few different lengths?
  22. Rene, I think what you have set up is awesome.. I mostly do Renovation design. Like you I go into home with laptop and laser tool and build asbuilt then go back to office and move walls as needed, new cabs , light etc, I have used the mask method for plans but if you are trying to have existing walls and new walls in same plan then they are snapping together and how could you show asbuilt walls in glass and new ones in standard or vector view? great job, I need to chat with you.
