Firmware for my large monitor? you think I can choose which driver the monitor chooses?

Hi everyone, i was going to record my screen with the task manager on top but it wouldnt work on my large monitor so i switched to my laptop monitor...the render on a 80k surface design took about 6s compared to 21 s on my large monitor...can anyone explain this?

Rene how do you put card into performance mode? i am surprised that the 1070 is up to 10 times as fast.. does that make sense?

it would seem that the 1070 with 6gb of ram should be much quicker than yours bob...

I have a gtx nvidia 1060 with 6 gb ram, it takes about 10s for chief to render the camera on watercolour. I have a collegue with a 1070 8gb ram and its almost instantaneous... I have downloaded the most recent nvidia driver. Here is the plan with the saved camera, i sure could use some help, this plan only has about 6k surfaces, i work on jobs 80k and they take 21 s to render..slows me down a bunch. water colour render plan test.zip

Thanks Rene.. seems like it should be much easier than this.. Every building has at least 4 elevations.. ca sure didn’t figure this out very well if their intent was to make notes easy to use for contract docs!! come one chief fix this...

I am really confused....so if we want the same label on each elevation we would need to write it out every time for all 4 elevations...is this really true?

I am using notes for the first time, when i add them to one elevation they appear 1,2,3,etc, when i copy and paste notes table to another elevation they become one decimal place and are mixed up...what am i missing. i want to use the same notes on each elevation and have the notes table appear on each elevation.

I reset the preferences for dialogue boxes and it fixed it.. the dialogue box was somewhere I couldn’t see it so it was waiting for a selection there..

I just upgraded driver today..

I have new laptop, i cant change material in plan, no buttons work, i have to escape to get out at this point...very frustrating. i rebooted laptop and re started chief. any ideas? i downloaded new nvidia driver today...not sure if this was a problem before...

How would one report the room the counter is in on the material list next to counter?

but how do you return sizing, it shows in the components? If i wanted to do a calculation for plywood material for a drawer could i do this now?

I dont see in the list of named pairs drawer width, drawer depth, door width, door height...are these listed somewhere?

Thanks.. I am going to dig in and see what’s available. of note the values that return numbers will not allow the user to select a unit type sometimes.. ie I did a backplash area calc but there was no sq ft unit to select..

Thanks for this, how do you know what code to write? Is there a list of items to reference?

Hi joe, automatic splash, I figured out I could click in field and select item in the extra column of material list and then select the length*6( height in inches)/ 12.. it produces the sq ft of splash but since ca returns linear ft as the standard you can’t select sq ft only ft in the drop down. i was trying to show the room name where each counter is in but ca doesn’t have that as an option to show in material list. It looks like I need to make a custom macro for room name.. is it just (macros.roomname%)and add it to a field in the cabinet component of countertop.

Eric, i opened up my cabinet materials and opened backsplash and the material is set to area, ca doesnt report it this way? What am i missing?

Anyone know how to get the area of back splash in the material list? Right now it just shows length, kind of useless if you dont have the height. Looks like a formula required?

Hi Mark, can you elaborate? why does it work on a full height cab placing edge tape in right location but on upper only one side is right? I understand the height change..

Hi Mark, i tried using your tape symbol on an upper cabinet and the right side keeps displaying off of cabinet edge? is there something different to do for an upper?

Thanks Eric, i was selecting window in 3d view and then tabbing and the selection goes away, i guess only works in plan?
