  1. Hi All, excited for x11, i cant get rope lighting to work in standard view but works in pbr view? , here is the plan. Also don't you think its weird that ca made it a rope light and not a LED strip light? I don't know anyone that uses a rope light as a builder or cabinet company...i know you can adjust thickness but it still appears as a hex...i think ca needs to get into the new millennium with this... rope.zip
  2. Perry, in Alberta, Canada it is not too difficult to get a permit. All that was recently added was a new energy code that requires that all assemblies have the energy rating listed. I have heard though like others mention that BC and Vancouver all have additional requirements over the standard code and can be quite a lot of work, but then this should weed out the part timers or incompetent.
  3. Thanks Dermot, i thought that remember my choice only worked in the current session, good to know. Worked now. Cheers.
  4. Hi all, i thought i saw someone say you can just use library to insert a cabinet door, but it wont insert unless there is a cabinet, what am i missing?
  5. Anyone else getting error? i can’t get any 360’s to work .. when I move phone the image doesn’t move?
  6. Thanks Michael, usually something small...worked now... Cheers.
  7. I see yours working...i looked at both files and cant see a difference but mine wont cut wall surface? Driving me crazy now. base plan.plan
  8. Michael, i am not sure how to make it work using your method, i increased ro by 7" and unchecked recessed to wall and this is what happens...perhaps i am doing something wrong?
  9. Thanks for your time Michael... i finally figured it out using your method. Cheers. I had to recess to main layer and use a s molding for case..here is what i did to make it work.
  10. .. What thickness is the splash then? Most quartz and stone only comes in 2cm or 3cm
  11. I posted earlier some drywall reveals.. secret would be put install these at a consistent height everywhere and then drywall just sits on top and there is a mud lip to finish it off. then when ready flooring would be installed right up to plastic reveal and base installed last. we do design/build Reno’s and additions so I design, budget, project manage and we do the cabinets as well so full control.
  12. I can imagine.. I really like this look.. I have a modern home addition Reno to do and was wanting to show client what it could look like.
  13. I see that, but if you want a 1/2” or so reveal all the way up door case isn’t the wmr only going to cut 1/16”?
  14. If your material region is only 1/16” how will it be the same depth as the recess above base?
  15. So you have a full case flush on both sides of door? I thought you could only do one side?
  16. Mick I tried doing a material region on an elevation, can’t snap to anything or center, so it’s difficult to get it just right. Doesnt work for me like you?
  17. Thanks Mick.. I have done this many times just wasn’t sure . yes my pony wall lower wall is two 0” thicknesses of black with framing in the middle
  18. Also there is a gap at end of wall where drywall would have been?
  19. i have a casing...mick how do you copy framing material and blend..are you just painting it in 3d?
  20. I am still not sure how to make rough opening make shadow line around door? I had to keep casing checked and make it the same width as door jamb and 1/16" thick. when you have an end wall condition the studs show through?
  21. Great ideas thanks... I didn’t really need the black just the reveal.. if it’s done then the shadow will work to provide the look.. does the door reveal work on both sides? Thanks for your input.
  22. Here are some drywall trims to use with base
  23. Goo hack.. but it kind defeats purpose of having a 3D design program. what about having a pony wall with lower wall a 1/8” thick 4.5” black layer over studs and then somehow recess a 3/8”x4” base and the difference will be the recess? Maybe this is what Eric did?
  24. So 4 different moldings? But then you don’t get true reveal as it wraps around corners.
  25. I completely understand how to make a pony wall and use material regions for grooves but pony walls only allow two types of walls. so the inset about base can not be made with a pony wall can it? using material regions for that groove is time consuming and they are not easy to line up. eric it would be great if you elaborated
