Micheal, I don’t understand your elation with doing away with room label? what was wrong with it? Can you share with us what you do now and why it’s better? Sounds like I’m missing the boat or late to the party.

Sounds like a bug.. it should work in standard view as well -
A little late to the party.. but when boarders install drywall they go right over windows and doors and then cut out openings and throw away ... so how could ca actually calculate drywall if it doesn’t use the total wall including openings? What am I missing? same thing with counters.. I have used custom labels for counter area but if there is a sink ca doesn’t count this hole.. but we still pay for this.. is there a better way of doing this?

Mark I can’t seem to get the spot lights to come on in standard or water colour views? What luminance do you use? so you set up a strip light and then save as symbol so you just drop it in? Have you set up a few different lengths? -
Rene, I think what you have set up is awesome.. I mostly do Renovation design. Like you I go into home with laptop and laser tool and build asbuilt then go back to office and move walls as needed, new cabs , light etc, I have used the mask method for plans but if you are trying to have existing walls and new walls in same plan then they are snapping together and how could you show asbuilt walls in glass and new ones in standard or vector view? great job, I need to chat with you.

So open plan.. go to 3D view.. change to glass view then add 2nd model
-
Well the first plan you open up can be in standard or glass option.. same with 2nd plan you add .. only I found if you opened first plan in standard view it had to stay that way. does this make sense?
-
Looks good.. seems like one has to decide which model is glass depending on what looks better.. my addition engulfed existing house so I had to make new glass and old standard.. with yours the addition is added on.
-
Let’s see what you got...
-
I agree.. I wish ca had the line drawing option.. and be able to add shadows like sketchup.. I started long ago with pencil and vellum.. I have come a longgggggg way.. I remember doing perspectives with vanishing points etc.. anyways I love the crossed lines on this view.. just like the old days
-
What I did was make current 3D design show in glass house first and turn up transparency and then add as built in standard view. if you start with standard view I couldn’t change it to glass house once I loaded as built model.

Hi Perry, i am downloading newest driver, 418.91...looks like i am out of date..hope it wont screw up things.

I loose my crosshairs and cursor quite often working on x11...anyone else seeing this? I have to quit ca and reopen to get them back.
-
I do a lot of additions/remodel designs, i think the new reference model will be good to show clients.

I was trying to make a shallow cove ceiling only 3/4” high, placed rope light inside and it really only worked with pbr.. tried spot and various Lumen settings, also tried spacing and slightly sloping spot lights and nothing worked but pbr.. again makes no no sense for ca to make this a hex.. should just be a rectangle to simulate LED tape lighting
-
Thanks Graham....that works but doesnt work in pbr...i had to turn it up to 350 luminens to get work but way too bright in pbr..so what then?
-
Hi All, excited for x11, i cant get rope lighting to work in standard view but works in pbr view? , here is the plan. Also don't you think its weird that ca made it a rope light and not a LED strip light? I don't know anyone that uses a rope light as a builder or cabinet company...i know you can adjust thickness but it still appears as a hex...i think ca needs to get into the new millennium with this... rope.zip

Perry, in Alberta, Canada it is not too difficult to get a permit. All that was recently added was a new energy code that requires that all assemblies have the energy rating listed. I have heard though like others mention that BC and Vancouver all have additional requirements over the standard code and can be quite a lot of work, but then this should weed out the part timers or incompetent.

Thanks Dermot, i thought that remember my choice only worked in the current session, good to know. Worked now. Cheers.

Hi all, i thought i saw someone say you can just use library to insert a cabinet door, but it wont insert unless there is a cabinet, what am i missing?
-
Anyone else getting error? i can’t get any 360’s to work .. when I move phone the image doesn’t move?
-
Thanks Michael, usually something small...worked now... Cheers.

I see yours working...i looked at both files and cant see a difference but mine wont cut wall surface? Driving me crazy now. base plan.plan

Michael, i am not sure how to make it work using your method, i increased ro by 7" and unchecked recessed to wall and this is what happens...perhaps i am doing something wrong?
