  1. That's too bad. I know the ones that come with Chief Architect come close, however I'm just not crazy about them.
  2. Here are a couple that I created in CAD that I'd like to use if at all possible:
  3. Hey All, I'm looking to create a cad line with custom arrows for my joist direction labels. I'm just wondering if this is even possible? I've tried creating one with CAD lines and then blocking it, however when I stretch the newly created block, the arrows become skewed. I then thought about creating a stretch plane for the block, but that doesn't seem possible either.
  4. Mike, Here's a video on how to solve the error you are receiving regarding ceiling heights: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8iYgK6vYxZBWWVZZW1UNk5sNk0/view?usp=sharing
  5. It never seizes to amaze me the things you learn in these forums. Keep up the good works guys; you're all a huge help.
  6. Hit CTRL+F to build your foundation.
  7. Jerry, I think there's some land assembly going on in that area which have driven the prices up. Unfortunately these prices aren't unusual at all. You can do a quick search in Vancouver BC at www.realtor.ca and you'll come across these: https://www.realtor.ca/Residential/Single-Family/17523901/2895-W-21ST-AVENUE-Vancouver-British-Columbia-V6L1K5 https://www.realtor.ca/Residential/Single-Family/17702227/4184-W-12TH-AVENUE-Vancouver-British-Columbia-V6R2P6 https://www.realtor.ca/Residential/Single-Family/17631199/3332-W-28TH-AVENUE-Vancouver-British-Columbia-V6S1R9 https://www.realtor.ca/Residential/Single-Family/17550696/727-E-26TH-AVENUE-Vancouver-British-Columbia-V5V2H9 https://www.realtor.ca/Residential/Single-Family/17500333/3505-33-SMITHE-STREET-Vancouver-British-Columbia-V6B0B5 https://www.realtor.ca/Residential/Single-Family/17641748/2707-1151-W-GEORGIA-STREET-Vancouver-British-Columbia-V5Z4E1 And how far does a million dollars go in the downtown core? 8. Before drawing your roof plane, ensure that you open up the roof plane dbx and check "Trusses (no birdsmouth)." Then when you draw in the trusses, the bottom chord should stop at the top plate.
  9. The problem is that the prices of homes don't reflect the wages. It's come to light that our housing market is being driven up by foreign investors through a loophole that our government turned a blind eye to. Here's a property for sale: https://www.locatehomes.ca/bc-real-estate-listings/vancouver/mls-R2119722/2848-East-Broadway-Vancouver-V5M1Z1?id=262141349 Look at the price. That's not a typo - $3.3 million.
  10. Indeed I am! Great guess . Vancouver is definitely a beautiful place... it's just ridiculously expensive.
  11. It looks like you have to select each window in the bay 1 by 1 and open up the window specification box. From there, uncheck "include in schedule".
  12. The nice thing about Revit is that you can do almost anything. The only downside is that it takes forever to complete projects.
  13. If it's too big, you can zip it, upload it to dropbox/google drive etc.
  14. When you have a moment, please post the plan
  15. Try creating a hole in the ceiling platform on the level blow.
  16. I started out as a Revit user (2 years). Migrated to Softplan as completing designs in Revit was taking way too long. Used Softplan for about a year when I lost my USB Security Key. Was told it would be $1,000 to replace it. Instead of replacing it, I just went with Chief. Within 10 minutes of trying Chief Architect, I instantly regretted shelling out $2600 for Softplan. For residential design, I honestly don't think there is a better program out there than CA.
  17. Edit > Default Settings > Dimensions > Dimensions Select your default style > Primary Format Change units to inches.
  18. Have you gone into the Reference Display Options dbx? From there you can adjust what you want to have displayed/hidden as well as the line styles.
  19. Toggling on the "Reference Floor Display" option should do this, no?
  20. Adjusted to 10' ceilings in the picture below. If you create invisible walls w/ the room divider tool, you can adjust the ceiling height for the newly created room. From there, you can adjust your roof plane height accordingly. farmhouse shed roof details-dj.zip
  21. Is this what you're trying to achieve? Not entirely sure what you're asking...
