  1. Thanks! I read somewhere that lowering the default 20 MSI to zero or in your case 1 to 5 works wonder. I'll try your settings. Thanks once again.
  2. Wow! care to share your settings?
  3. Patience Set your RT time to "No Limit".
  4. Nice Corona shots! Corona will not be free anymore by March or April. I am able to get similar results with Vray if I use vrayphysicalcamera but render time increases significantly. This one took about 3 minutes.
  5. Here's a quick raytrace - 59 sec. Try SolidRocks by Jerome -download the trial version. Mention my name if you are buying the plugin, you might get a discount.
  6. Nice render. There's a color correction button at the bottom of the vfp window in vray, http://help.chaosgroup.com/vray/help/maya/150R1/vfb_index.html You can use it to adjust final render without going to a photo editor, much like the image properties in Chief. PS. That scene and resolution can be rendered in about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Thea, Vray or Corona? Very nice indeed!
  8. There are several ways to copy. -copy paste (point to point) -multiple copy -transform/replicate. Be sure to go to Edit>Edit Area>Edit Area (all floors) before doing the above.
  9. Convert the texture from PNG to JPEG.
  10. Jon can join the meeting, he's good with the technque.
  11. Irfanview can do this overlays, vignette etc...I use it when I don't want to use Photoshop. It can combine all 3 rendering techniques.
  12. Try to lessen the environment light by half if it is 1. .5 or .7 might do the trick.
  13. Can you post the plan? Thanks
  14. Here's a nice hdri image. Download and open in a photo editor then save as jpeg. http://www.caligofx.net/hdri.html
  15. My post in #3 is a seamless panoramic image, it will line up. Here is where I got the image: http://www.caligofx.net/blog
  16. I have no ready answer for that - no idea. They are common even with high-end renderers, it is telling us to raytrace a little longer. If you are applying photon mapping best bet is to let it run until a scene will look good to you. Avoid too many lights, ambient occlusion will take care of the dark areas. Let's see in the next version if CA has already found a fix for that.
