  1. POST 36 A set of tools to make a bath surround with an operable sliding door. Click the links in the video description to download the tools, Enjoy! CLICK ME TO GO BACK TO THE INDEX!!!
  2. Do you have images or PDFs in the layout? Can you do a dropbox share link so we can see?
  3. Brilliant, this post just reminded me of like 5 of my favorite @dshall vids.
  4. I wrote a very beginner level set of area macros that are now broken. The macro is supposed to list area from the owner polyline. Instead, it updates the 4 other macros of the same type with the area of the most recently opened polyline. Confused as to why this is happening since my understanding is that the value would be taken from the owner polyline only. Here is one of the macros: $plot_E_Cov = area "#{$plot_E_Cov.round(0)}"
  5. I must've missed this with the release of X-12 but what a great shortcut. Name your Saved Plan View with "-%box_scale%" at the end of the name and the layout file will translate the macro to the box scale. EDIT: only works when checking Specify Label. Then the automatic label carries through
  6. Adjust the offset in the edit symbol dbx. Pace at the front of a cabinet, then multiple copy at your desired interval. Looks good in PBR: RABS Stackable LED.calibz
  7. Share it on dropbox drive or onedrive. renerabbitt@gmail.com
  8. I would be using a different software for what I provide to you..Raytrace is a fickle ex-wife
  9. You've got a TON of transparent surfaces and very few light sources..a scene like this just takes a while. I think I gave you my email in past...send me your file and I can run this for you on my main machine if you can wait a day or two
  10. I think I've changed a few things about this method, namely using a ceiling instead of a molding for the pool water. then the crown molding(the coping) is just offset. Molding profiles should look correct in your room dbx, not sure I understand the molding question. Im not sure I follow the voids predicament without a video but you could certainly make those steps with your solid tools. Hope that helps
  11. Created a method for this that is slightly convulated but overall very accurate.
  12. Sorry for the delay, been inundated. I've been waiting to make a video about advanced materials coupled with simple models. Want to test X-13 before I get into it. Their is some huge hidden potential in the AO maps that I don't see anyone taking advantage of. Chief doesn't treat AO the same as most rendering engines, which can be used to created some much needed depth and cut through the overlighting inherent in chiefs engine. Also getting into some good maps can really change the look of chief, just keeping in mind those high reso textures add up fast. Stay tuned!
  13. Double knuckle articulating arms are outdated. Would love to see a single piston single knuckle arm with an integrated led to be ultra sleek. Seeing as this is the tech age, I would incorporate standard mountable hardware for attaching such things as a standard microphone for dual purpose use. Also would be nice to quickly shift locations of such a lamp nby creating a mounting system that is easy to detach and mount to say a mic stand or wall mount bracket.
  14. Something is getting lost in translation. To do as previously mentioned using what Rob and Eric advised, you would need to set your General Wall Defaults to Resize About Main Layer Inside and then you would need to select your foundation walls and open them up. In the wall dbx Wall Types\ replace the foundation wall with the wall type from your library. This will replace your wall with the proposed wall and aligh at the inside main layer
  15. Look at the arrows, he is illustrating the various resize about settings. If you were to select Main Layer Inside and then select your two walls and change to your proposed wall it would do what you want it to.
  16. This won't help with continuous draw^ @solver and @stevenyhof Continuous draw pivots on the center of the main wall layer. @robdyck^ This would only work with @solver method Bigger question for me is why are you drawing over foundation walls? If you are drawing a wall that will be aligned with a wall above, why not copy the wall above and paste-hold-position below? Or simple use the Align With Above Tool. If you use both solver and robs suggestion together it will work as you intend it to, but not with continuous draw mode.
  17. I use Cad details for every schedule because I find it more reliable when using the SAM method with layouts. Another benefit is how reliable the width of all of my schedules are when sent to layout. Easy to align on true center. When you crop a layout box you can quite easily create an offset. I also happen to use the Box labels instead of the schedule heading. With the single CAD detail method I would need to rename every box label.
  18. Yes, it is, I've got a busy morning but shoot me a PM as a reminder and I will try and package it up for others use.
  19. Site analysis All text and notes-Thanks to Alaskan for the tip about global macros in X-12. Could stop right here as the rest is just variants of text or note implementation. Custom Fields for display in custom schedules such as Electrical Panel Schedules or Braced Wall panel schedules. Custom Labels All details(extremely easy to update) All standards Wrote a custom macro with Alaskan to determine the zoning code of all zips in California just by plugging in a zip code.
  20. Problem is that the envelope isnt full closed, likely the parapet roof. Light comes in to the interstitial space and the wall tops pick up the sunlight
  21. Any number of things can cause this, often from user error with a slight workflow adjustment needed. Happens most often in template plans, being too far from 0,0 origin, building envelop not properly closed, improper wall designations etc. Too many to list, best to post a .plan file.
  22. Best to post a plan file to better see whats going on
  23. Welcome to the forums BRod. Depending on the timeline and expectations/scope I may be able to help you out. I am a regular here in the forums and with the Chief staff, plenty of references and you can take a look at some of my past work through the website in my signature. Feel free to contact me at renerabbitt@gmail.com. cheers
