when CA auto create the elevations, it puts it into the Section View Set by default.

 

is there a setting to change this?

 

i would like the Elevation view to be in its "Elevation View Set", instead of the default Section View Set.

That would be nice - but Chief doesn't provide an "Elevation View Set" as a standard.

It would probably require some additions to the Defaults similar to the "Rendering Techniques" for "Layer Set".  There are several such things in Chief where Layers are "forced" on the user which can be changed later but do not have user defineable defaults.

Try going to Defaults>Layer Sets>Cross Sections and set up any Layer Set you'd like as your default.

I just send the view to Layout and when I do name the appropriate direction at that point-

thus creating an individual layerset for each elevation.
