Joe_Carrick
Can anyone tell me where and/or when this option will be available? I have some materials that have a pattern - but sometimes I want the pattern to show in a 3D view (Standard Render) and sometimes I don't. I have been unable to see any case where this tool is available, either in the Menu or in the Edit Toolbar.
GeneDavis
Patterns are toggled on/off in 3D views when camera type is vector. But you know that. It was Eric @solver that got me in the habit of doing full overview 3D views using those settings: vector view, color off, patterns off, and shadows on. The best way to examine the details of a building's exterior envelope, and it's fast. Great when doing manual roof build work or editing. Are you wanting to control patterns on/off in a different way?
robdyck
As Gene mentioned, the toggle patterns tool only works in a vector view. For all other rendering techniques you can turn the layer "Patterns, 3D Views" on or off as needed. Joe_Carrick
OK, so in a Standard Render you can't turn an individual pattern Off. So if I want to use a Standard Render and not have a particular pattern not displayed I have to actually make the material have "No Pattern". Some materials like stacked stone can get pretty complex patterns with a lot of lines. It would seem Chief could make that toggle work for Standard Renders.
