This is drawn in X-17 one story building with truss roof. I have not built the framing yet. So Just 2x6 walls and the attic or gable walls are built by x17 itself. But still a large attic area in a truss system. I would like to place a 8/12 gable vent. I've done it a million times. I could build a polyline solid and fake it but I would like not to have to do that. Thanks again. tundra_dweller Posted May 21 Share Posted May 21 I just ran into this problem as well. If you're trying to place the vent in a 3d camera view, try placing it in plan view instead, at your attic level. I've also run into problems placing these when you have an attic wall running perpendicular to your gable end in the space where you want your vent.
