Gable end Vents

Can't place a gable vent in a gable end wall that is an attic. Any help would be great thanks

I been drawing in Chief since the company started, I'm old LOL

 

Never had this problem before. This is drawn in X-17 one story building with truss roof. I have not built the framing yet.

So Just 2x6 walls and the attic or gable walls are built by x17 itself. But still a large attic area in a truss system.

I would like to place a 8/12 gable vent. I've done it a million times. I could build a polyline solid and fake it but I would like not to have to do that.

Are you talking about a window and making it louvered, or are you talking about a symbol out of the library?

Symbol from the Core library Round Vents and Gable vents that match the roof pitch and belong tight to the peak.

Have you tried using a window and switching the type to Louvered.  I'm curious if it's the wall, or something else...

I am not having any problems placing one from the library.

 

You need to post an actual plan file so that someone can see what is going on in your plan.  A pdf with a picture doesn't help in this case.

          X-17, 8/12 roof, 8/12 Attic Gable vent ,no problem here.

You need to post the actual plan file  "somename.plan" and not a pdf.  That way someone will be able to look at the model and perhaps figure out what is wrong with the build
