Gable end Vents

Can't place a gable vent in a gable end wall that is an attic. Any help would be great thanks

I been drawing in Chief since the company started, I'm old LOL

 

Never had this problem before. This is drawn in X-17 one story building with truss roof. I have not built the framing yet.

So Just 2x6 walls and the attic or gable walls are built by x17 itself. But still a large attic area in a truss system.

I would like to place a 8/12 gable vent. I've done it a million times. I could build a polyline solid and fake it but I would like not to have to do that.

Are you talking about a window and making it louvered, or are you talking about a symbol out of the library?

Symbol from the Core library Round Vents and Gable vents that match the roof pitch and belong tight to the peak.

Have you tried using a window and switching the type to Louvered.  I'm curious if it's the wall, or something else...
