All I am having a boxed soffit issue where the trim is being placed on the outside edge of the box and not where it's supposed to be. I have tried several things to try and resolve and nothing is working. Hoping someone has sHidden Oaks 34.plan.zipeen this issue before.821756754_Screenshot2026-03-04at7_51_31AM.thumb.png.1fb996f2c1fc7d206430524b4af5758b.png

Thanks for having a look.

Shane

Hi Shane,

I had a look at the trim issue and I think its caused by the curved roof section. I'm not sure if you intended it to be curved.

I took the liberty to change it to straight sections and it is doing a better job of joining the trim. attached a sample to look at.

hope that helps,

Michael

Thanks for having a look.... Yes. I want that section of the roof to be curved.

I have found with roofs that if anything happens like you have listed there is an error somewhere. Once that gets fixed everything falls into place. From making sure all roof plans are joined to wall placement CA roofs are very sensitive. Might even be a box needing checked or unchecked. I fixed a boxed eave this morning after a search and found a 10 year old thread that showed me what to do. It worked great.

This is a good point and one that I often forget. With a curved roof I rarely "trim" it until I have to. Maybe I just need to give things a little time. :)

I'd suggest getting all the roofs exactly correct before curving that roof plane. Apply the curve only once all the roof planes are correct and all ridges, hips and valleys are connected.

Then, be prepared to apply fascia and shadow boards and other trim pieces manually.

I did exactly what you said and resigned to the fact that I would need to add. them manually.

Thanks Rob.

From Support.

Hi Shane,

Thank you for contacting Chief Architect Support.

After some tinkering with the roof, it seems like there's an issue with boxed eaves on curved roofs in X17. I'll make sure this gets reported to our developers to take a look at.

In the meantime, I believe the best workarounds would be to either unchecked Curved Roof in that roof plane, or patch the holes manually with 3d solids.
