kwhitt
I’m creating an exterior brick wall with no wallboard on the interior. I do this by copying Brick-4 and attempting to delete the wallboard layer. When I attempt to delete, I get the attached error message. This method worked fine in X16 but not in X17 to which I just recently upgraded. joey_martin
Seems like a silly question but, are you sure you are hitting DELETE on the right and not at the top?
kwhitt
Yes, and I've tried it several times - even restarting Chief. Sometimes after modifying the new wall, it will revert to Brick-6 and totally ignore the changes I made.
Doug_N
Next question, have you created a copy of the wall type being used in the plan? Hopefully, it is the copy that you are trying to modify. Also, it would be helpful for you to post a copy of the plan file.
kwhitt
I would upload the file, but it is too large and I am unable to reduce it with this new project management backup (which I can't stand so far). How are users now uploading to the forum?
kwhitt
Here's a link to the file in a Dropbox folder: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/jo4umwplypjp7rgaupfhu/AHYDZkRSEgkF5B-IUQJc_aY?rlkey=z3zmmk8rg2ugcax2t0m4ndqfs&st=auasrjk2&dl=0 Please open the wall marked by the revision cloud and see if you are able to delete the wallboard layer. Thanks!
DBCooper
I think Joey is correct. The only way you will get that message is if you are trying to delete the "wall type" and not when you try to delete the currently selected "wall layer". Basically, you are pushing the wrong "delete" button. If you are indeed pushing the right button, then something is seriously messed up. You should exit Chief and reboot your computer to see if it keeps happening. FWIW, I went ahead and downloaded your plan and had no problem deleting the paint layer.
