I posted this  a few days ago and got all your responses thanks!

Manual Roofs. 

On the plan draw with CAD lines where you want the roof to extend to and resulting angled perimeter lines. THEN, on your plan select one of the roof planes. Grab the grip at the gable ridge and drag it out to where your cad lines intersect. Then do the same with the opposite roof plane. Drawing the lines may not be necessary if you are just going for a certain angle that the roof edge will snap to. I like the CAD lines in cases like this to determine plan wise exactly where I want the roof to extend to.
