Connect Facia from two different heights

Hello,

 

I wondering how I would go about connecting my fascia and roof lines from two different heights? then have the wall cleanly fill the area.

I don't know of a way to do this with auto roofs turned on. It would be simple with manual roof planes. in this case you could turn off manual roof planes and grab the edge of the upper roof plane that turns back toward the lower roof till it forms a point and then modify the lower roof plane to follow the new valley edge created by pulling the upper roof down. its easy once you get the hang of it.

I would love to see that plan built. I am having a hard time imagining how to build that, let alone create it in Chief.

I was having the same thought so I took a run at it. Pretty simple with manual roofs.

Personally, I wouldn't connect the fascia.  I'm not a fan of sloped fascia; looks like an oops to me.  I would let the upper hip roof die be a hip and return into the lower roof and frame the lower roof back to the hip wall.  They're two separate pieces of building, treat then as such.

It's for sure doable. When I worked for a builder back in the 90's and 2000's we did it all the time.

This is a request from a builder. I'll give it a try with the manual settings.

With autoroofs on, draw an invisible room under the sloped area.  Break the outside wall and tell chief the invisible rooms exterior wall is high shed gable.

 

Once autoroofs is turned off you can delete the invisible walls.

 

Choosing between manual or autoroofs method comes down to how far along in the process I am.
