Keyboard key input for Feet

Is there another way to enter "feet" than the single quote key beside the enter? I just returned from another drawing program that used the "minus" key to enter feet. That was VERY cool since it's right beside the number pad.

But here's the real reason I am asking, I want to get a left-hand keyboard with the number pad on the left. I can then keep my right hand mostly on the mouse and enter dimensions with my left hand, but the feet key (single quote) is over on the right by the "enter". Can I program CA to use the "minus" or some other key to enter the feet symbol? I know there are programmable keyboards for $600. And hours of learning.....

You might be able to use a keyboard remapping tool outside of Chief.  Windows 11 has it through Power Toys.  I have not used it, but you might check it out.

I don't have it but found this. It has some programmable keys.  Maybe it could be used to assign common Chief commands you want to use also??

You can enter the dimensions in inches ( 122 instead of 10’-2”)

There is one option to adjust your number view type in dbx to decimal feet. Then you just enter numbers and it makes it feet.

QUICK!!! What is 31-7,1/2" in decimal feet?  I really think I need a programmable number pad. Got one on the way. Thanks for the input

 I can't figure it out quick, so I turned on the option to 

use the secondary dimension option showing decimal feet.
