Living Space in Attic

Good day.  I have designed a one-story house with an 8/12 roof pitch.

 

I want to add living space in the "attic" above the center of the house (where the roof pitch allows adequate floor-to-ceiling height.

 

I cannot figure out how to add that second floor just where the roof height allows.

Howdy Howard,

1. Turn off auto roofs.
2. Set the defaults for the second floor.
3. Add a blank second floor.
4. Draw an interior wall where you want the perimeter of the second floor.
5. Define the space as some type of living area.
6. Turn on the ceiling break lines layer.
7. Check things out in via framing cross section views.

You can still have automatic roofs by setting the default roof dialog to ignore the upper storey.

And you can Edit All Roof Planes> General tab> Mark as edited.
