Thanks DB and Yes will probably use X17 in legacy mode when I complete a couple jobs started in Project management mode and decide to use it full time and the 'new features' in X17 are in no way a compelling reason for me to use X17. My business requires very little Ray Tracing use overall as the standard views serve my purposes in most cases (and the YouTube Videos I produce for my clients) and the very occasional need that I have for a Ray Trace the CPU Ray Trace, which doesn't take hours for an image, works just fine for my business.

I also have an older system and monitors that may or may not be compatible with a new graphics card and I can't justify the cost and complexity for something I really don't need.

You might have to get one anyway..

MIGHT, as I haven't had to upgrade drivers in years and really just don't need upgrades of my current system for my workflow, including an upgrade to X17 though I am current with my SSA. The time may come but for now I'll wait for Win 10 support, GTX support and whatever else support to lapse and see what the real world consequences truly are - for me. In the mean time my system works great for my purposes.

Buy a PC and use the iMac(s) to connect to it remotely.

This war’s been raging for decades, but there can be peace — a happy medium between staying loyal to what you love and embracing the cold, efficient world of Windows.

For around $1,000, you can pick up a pretty decent Windows based machine and stash it in the basement like a server troll. Mac on top, PC underworld. Everyone wins.

I owned an apple once.  It was state of the art but I had to get another computer with more capacity.

That Apple II Plus just didn't have the power of the IBM PC - but I wish I'd kept it just because it would be worth a lot as an antique.:lol:
