Is there a setting to get auto-build roof too add the shed roof portion?

I don't think so in that particular case ......

 

Break the right or left Roof plane's edge and drag it over and through the other side.... lapping it over the other one, ensure they are co-planar then use the Union Tool to join the two roof planes into one.

The Auto-Roof Generator is a pre-programmed device that cannot by itself realize all possible geometric problems it may be presented with by End Users. That is what competent end users and manual roof tools are for.

You actually CAN get it to autobuild, but it takes special prep (is that a workaround?).  Probably not worth the effort. 

If you want to try it;  

1) Build an invisible wall to form a room on the outside of building where you want said roof to form.  

2)  Adjust this wall to be your desired overhang distance X - 1" from your exterior wall in the area you want the overhang to form.
3) Select the new room you've created and set the room to Open Below room type.
4) Select the new invisible wall, open the Dbx, select the Roof panel and set the roof pitch to match what you want, and set the overhang to be 1"

Now autobuild your roof

I'll stay with the manual method for now.

Mark's method is how a lot of Roof work must be done in the Lessor Home Designer Titles as there is no manual Roof Tools , Only Home Designer Pro has them.
