recessed wall cabinet bottom for light rail

Recommended Posts

I am trying to show a recessed wall cabinet bottom for inserting a light strip.

I need to be able to show the bottom of the cabinet recessed up by 1 1/2" with the sides still down. The doors should cover the recess also.

Hi, Nancy.  It helps if we know you are using the same software as us.  Is it Chief Premiere X11?

You have posted before, so maybe it is time to put your details in your signature.  Use the profile.  See mine as an example.

Nowadays I use 3/4" which is easy in CA, more than that gets tricky and exactly what it looks like depends on framed or frameless (and if frameless check with the maker to make sure you get what you want) Plan attached.

Down and dirty method....

But you then need to place you own Doors as Chief won't drop to the bottom of the Valance molding but once the door is placed in plan from the libary and copied it isn't too bad.

Likewise for the Handle/knob.

Actually If you remove the Bottom seperation the Door will come all the way down , you can then use one of the Shelves set at 1 1/2" from the bottom as the bottom of the cabinet and the molding will fill the gap , see the attached wall cabinet for settings.

Mark:

I explored the plan you posted and am impressed by your clever method to get a raised cabinet bottom.  I also liked your clever solution to produce an ogee curve in an island or peninsula cabinet that you posted back in October.

Sorry folks, I am new to this forum and I deleted my post by accident while trying to respond.

I am trying to make a 24" wide pantry cabinet with full width roll out trays, but when I have double doors it makes it look like 2 rollout trays, one for each door side. Is there a workaround? When it's a single 24" door the rollout tray comes out perfectly, but I need a double door.

This time I added the plan.

I'm sure this has been discussed, but I can't find anything specific that answers this question.

I'm trying to create a simple vanity with two drawers and an open shelf underneath (see inspiration image of "vanity").  I simply can't figure out a way/remember how to add a shelf other than by using the shelf command. While this works visually, it treats it as a separate part of the vanity, thereby creating two separate pieces.  In the Working Plan and Kitchen and Bath View plans, the shelf shows up on top of the sink while the 3d view shows the shelf in the correct place!  I guess maybe it's, in part, a layers thing?

I know there has to be a better way of doing this.  What am I missing/forgetting?

      Good afternoon,
I am trying to design a kitchen but am having issues with both lower and upper cabinets that are convex.  I understand using the different door styles for the front, but how do I make the back of the cabinets fit?

Hi all any suggestions on how to adjust cabinet to angled wall.
      see image..
note this cabinet will only be half functional from front on but the back will be chamfered to suit the wall.
I have tried to look thru the options but nothing seems to address my requirements.

      thanks in advance

I've used an older cabinet program (Cabinet Vision) for producing cabinet cut sheets for some time now. I would like to use one program start to finish to simplify things. Our company owns our own cabinet shop and is used to mass cabinet production using these cut sheets. Is there a way to export cabinet data only through Chief Architect that I can give my cabinet builders to assemble off of?
