Material Painting not Proportional

Recommended Posts

When I have imported a material to apply to a piece of furniture, how do I get the different parts of the furniture to take the fabric in the right proportions?  I am trying to apply a fabric swatch (with a pattern) and it isn't sized consistently on the chair.  Thoughts?

Thank you!

Thank you. I can't apply to parts of the chair. It's all or nothing.

I have been trying this with core library and imported chairs.

It looks like somebody did, though.  Where did you get the 3D model?  The texture scale on the cushion is obviously larger than on the rest of the chair.

I suggest you contact this 3D modeler who has a number of upholstered models up on the 3D Warehouse.  Ask her if she can improve your model.

This happens with core content too, and manufacture content. I am trying this with a Wayfair chair right now, imported from CA library, and same thing. I can't apply the material to the cushion separately.

You have to do this in a 3rd party software. CA is not capable of UV mapping. You could do it through painstacking surface deletion and symbol compiling, but nowhere near worth the time invested.

As seen here, it is possible, but not with the model you imported.
