Square Edge Dashed Lines

Recommended Posts

Im doing an egress diagram for a building, and wanted to use thick dashed lines for the path.  When i do this in Chief it come out with rounded corners for dash marks.  Is there anyway to make these square?

Johnny,

A couple of alternatives spring to mind.

1. Create a new line style using text in the style - use Character Map to select a square character.

Or, that may not work, try:

2. Use a Distribution Path and distribute a square filled cad polyline block that you saved to the library.

This is a Distribution Path with which you have control of spacing, size, rotation, etc.:

No. I have asked for more control over the shape of line ends, like exists in other programs:

In this example you can select a flat end with no cap, a round cap (the only option currently available in CA), or a square cap, as well as specify the shape of the corner.

Maybe time for a reminder suggestion.
