Doug_N
I have a two-story building that I am designing and it has a bay window on the first and second floor that aligns with the first floor. The first floor window has been replaced by a sliding patio door. I can see no way of putting a door in the walls generated by the bay window option. You may delete a window, or insert another window, but not a door. Is there a way to do this, other than to replace the bay window with discrete walls? javatom
This might be overly simple but could you just use a 72"x80" window set on the floor and label it a door?
Doug_N
Not really. Not a bad idea, but this is for submission for a building permit.
javatom
I created a door on the left and a window on the right. Can you tell the difference?
ShaneK
use walls for your bay window/wall/door
Doug_N
Can't tell the difference here, but what about the plan view, sections and framing? What about the door sill?
Doug_N
ShaneK Yes that is what I am going to do. I just wondered if I was missing something. It would be good to be able to explode the bay window assy.
joey_martin
I had honestly forgotten there was a bay window tool. I see by this post that it is still as useless as the last time I tried to use it. I use walls for all bay situations, there simply is not enough freedom with that "tool" for it to be useful. I'm glad Shane pointed you in the right direction.
