SNestor
Ok...I'm sure this is a simple question and I'm certain my "newb" status will be firmly cemented by this question. When an elevation is sent to layout...is all the text that describes what is on the elevation placed on the drawing in the layout view? Text that describes the size of the trim, roof pitch, details, floor elevation markers and dimensions. Is all this text placed on the layout view? Thanks
tommy1
I place all text in the elevation before it's sent to the layout. I try not to add ant text in the layout 99.9% of the time.
Joe_Carrick
Also, any CAD work that you add to the Elevation View will automatically be updated in the Layout. That includes TEXT. I do almost everything in the Elevation View - not in the Layout.
SNestor
OK...well I'm glad I asked. I doubt I would have done it that way. Thanks!
Barton_Brown
OK...well I'm glad I asked. I doubt I would have done it that way. Thanks! I'm glad you asked the question - something I too have wondered - what is the consensus of 'best practice' performed by others on this topic? I have violated this 'best practice' a couple of times and regretted it later.
glennw
Barton, My rule is pretty simple. Always add cad and text in the elevation view. Delete cad in the layout view (because you can't delete it in the elevation view anyway).
