Not sure if this is the correct topic area but for some reason, I can not figure out how to display the electrical fixture I just dropped in. Here are the steps I've taken:

1. create wall elevation (E4)

2. clip wall elevation in plan view making sure the fixture is well within the limits.

3. saved, exited, restarted .plan

4. added light fixture in plan view

5. opened elevation by double-clicking the callout in .plan

6. display opens sans light fixture

Sorry had to zip the file... didn't have time to figure out how to shrink it...

. Be sure that Chief is closed before zipping or attaching a copy of a file. I prefer using the "File-back up entire plan" directly to a zip file. You can do that with Chief Open and get a good copy. Doing what you did just wastes everyone's time. Try again but use the Backup to zip command in the file menu this time, please.

What's missing?

That is very odd... It wasn't displaying like that before. I have a feeling it may have been a graphics card issue. My GeForce is no longer recognized on my computer. I'll be taking it in today to see if that resolves the issue. Thank you both for the help. Out of curiosity what program do you use to record a live screen share? If the problem still isn't resolved I'd like to see if that would help in the diagnostics. Thanks again!

A 20 year old version of HyperSnap.

Windows has the Snipping tool that does the same thing.

Are you sure you have the Electrical Layer Displayed in Elevation Views ?

On my laptop the Nvidia Card wasn't being recognised but switching the INTEL driver to an older one seemed to fix it , the latest intel Driver was causing the laptop to start with only the "Microsoft Basic Display" and the Nvidia card wasn't being used ......not sure if you have the same issue?

I would like to be able to display a dishwasher and disposal outlet in the position shown on the attachment (back of the cabinet).  The way I got this to work is to insert a wall, place the outlet, make it invisible, and turn off the invisible wall display.  Is there an easier way?  Outlets can be placed on the side of the island cabinet, why not on the back?

Good evening everyone, hope you are all well! I have had this problem for awhile and I have searched the forums for this issue before. The living room shown in the jpeg is a 2-story height space in a tiny home (84" first floor, 60" Loft). I want to have the electrical layout displayed on the ground floor and also have the recessed lights in the vaulted ceiling in the floor above. The problem is the vaulted ceiling is drawn on the 2nd floor. The obvious workaround is to draw these fixtures on the 2nd floor, CAD to detail, and copy them as a separate layer on the ground floor. It is important that the client sees the lights in relation to furniture, cabinets, etc. Let me know if it is possible to combine the first and second floor into one room in the living room. As you can see in the photo, the ceiling is registering only 84" above the floor. Thanks!

I have created a column out of Polyline solids and moldings.  Is there any way to get an outlet to place into this surface?  If there is not a way, what are your suggestions on what I do?  It is a dummy column framed out that surrounds a steel post, there is plenty of room for an outlet to be placed within the open interior space.  How do I place the outlet without there being a wall or a cabinet in this location?  Please see the attached image.  The red arrow points to where I would like to place an outlet.

      Thank you for your help!
