deck layout page

can i add a layout page just for DECKS & only have specfic LAYERS in it like deck framing / joists / ledgar/ blocking / beams & so on, and not have all the items in the all on set  & if so how   would i start to achieve this

Of course....establish "decks layer and send to layout.

Am I missing something?

Seems pretty straight forward.

I would create a "Decks", annotation set and any custom layers for use in that set and then use it.

WHERE do i start ??? how & where  ?? Do I start with the all on set & hit copy or new ? Do i check or delete the layers before i copy or hit new ?

Follow David's lead.

Don't use all on to start too much editing.

Start with something closer to what you ultimately want.

Take framing anno set for instance and copy it.

Go through the individual components -text, arrows, dimensions, etc.. and copy or edit them to customize for decks.

 

Then copy framing layer set and name decks.

Then make sure decks anno set uses decks layer set.

Open layer set management ( a button on the top menu with three pages, the middle one has a red check mark on it )

Create a new layer set called Deck Plan Set.

 

Open that new layer set and, set up your layers.

Chief videos are merely to introduce tools, not teach you how to apply them in a custom way, User videos are specific application of those tools that Chief Introduced.
