Lew,

 

They are Ceiling Break Lines....on the Ceiling, Break Lines layer.

They indicate where the ceiling changes from flat to cathedral.

It is a little confusing when you look at that layer in Layer Display Options, because even though they are there, the Used column doesn't have the red cross in it.

To expand upon what Graeme said, those are Ceiling Break Lines.  They're automatically created lines that represent areas where your roof planes cut into the ceiling below.  They live on the Ceiling Break Lines layer. 

 

They're really just informational.  You don't actually have to raise or lower anything if that's how you want it built.  If you don't want to see them, just turn the layer off.  Having said that, just beware that they definitely can be a handy tool as they often serve as a warning that you've unintentionally created a less than satisfactory condition.

I forgot about ceiling break lines

 

not sure if my partner Joe did that intentional or not

 

this is a quickie plan for a house I am trying to buy

we do the inspection on Friday and I wanted to determine where to put fencing etc

 

I we close then I will get more accurate on the model
