ajrare
Is this possible in Chief Architect? Import a (dwg) drawings file, and use them to modify and create in Chief Architect. AJ
johnny
If you import a standard DWG its typically in 2D - so to the extent you are looking for 2D then yes...otherwise if 3D then not really. There are 3D attributes in DWG as well, but even then I think the best you'd get is a symbol in CA.
Joe_Carrick
Chief has a "Lines to Walls" tool but IMO it's cumbersome and not all that accurate. If I have a DWG I will just draw walls over the top and once I have the basic layout with doors and windows in place I delete the 2D CAD lines. Dennis_Gavin
put the 2D on it's on layer before tracing over it.
joey_martin
If whomever is sending you the CAD file can turn off all the layers except the main outer layer of the walls, then the CAD to WALLS tool works really quickly. Even if you have just the wall layers, and can shift select the outer layer it works. The outer layer of the CAD file will be the MAIN LAYER of your Chief walls.
