The problem is that the main layer of your exterior walls is defined as a Gap. Edit this material to make it Framing, and the walls will build down to the foundation.

I can't fix the problem with Polyline Solids for you, but alternatively you could build the mirror out of something that does reference the floor, such as a soffit.

Make sure the Rooms layer is turned off, because that will display the floor finishes.

I can't figure out these: Audio/Video HVAC Plumbing AFAIK, nothing from the CA library or menu uses these layers.

I didn't start with CA until X5, so I don't know about X3, but maybe you can shoot an elevation, break the attic wall above the window, and drag that portion down to the window head.

The Pattern is defined and scaled separately from the Texture. Simply open the Material and adjust the size of the Texture map until you get the desired result.

Floor Material Region Replaces Entire Floor, Not Just Region

Yes, I know by default it's set to replace all the flooring under it - but the problem is it replaced ALL the flooring throughout the room, not just underneath the material region. I've gotten it to work, but not consistently. When I applied a new region, then rotated it, the region duplicated itself and deleted the entire floor. After multiple undo ops, and multiple attempts, I've got what I want; however, the implementation seems buggy. Maybe it's just me. -

Only if it's defined as a separate room, which for schedule purposes and such I don't want to do. While investigating this problem, I created a material region in one room, expanded it to span into an adjacent room, then when I deleted the region, the adjacent room did not rebuild the default floor - it leaves a hole where the material region was. The original room rebuilt fine. -
I have a hallway where I need to change the angle of the hardwood floor. I created a floor material region with the required angle, set it to replace the finish floor, but instead of just replacing the region, it has wiped out the entire hallway floor. Now, deleting the material region doesn't restore the old floor, even though the dbx is checked for the default finish floor. I haven't noticed a similar problem with wall material regions, so I can't imagine this is the intended behavior.

But what if the OP wants 9-1/4" rafters?

I'm not a roof expert, but I can tell you that the gap varies with the rafter depth - the deeper the rafter, the wider the gap. I'll keep thinking - but probably won't figure it out before one of the experts.

One technique is to set up a custom layer for your reference lines, then create a custom reference layerset that includes this layer; then when you activate the custom reference layer, you get the reference lines which you can snap to, and use the distance tool with, but they can't be dimensioned. Though, if you have more than two floors, this probably isn't a viable alternative.

I think Perry meant that you can set the cross-section camera to display as a callout, then check the box in the dbx to display on all floors.

I can't find any mention of this "right-click" functionality in the X6 Reference Manual. It's so frustrating that many handy tricks in CA are either poorly documented or not documented at all. Glen, thanks for the tip.

It appears the only way to re-size the image independently in the x- or y-axis is through the dbx.

I believe this controls the default for a new cabinet when inserted: Default Settings > Materials > Cabinet Door/Drawer Whereas this controls the material for when you change a door panel: Default Settings > Cabinets > Base Cabinet > Materials > Drawers/Panels

Ok, never mind - I should have drawn the stair on the ground floor instead of drawing it on the first floor. Problem solved. Sorry.

I've drawn a U-shaped stair connecting the ground floor to the first floor. The lower run (shown on the left with the up arrow) cuts the stairwell railing on the first floor. Anyone have a solution?

HSS is a Hollow Structural Section. 2x2 structural tubing comes in 3/16, 1/4, and 5/16 thick in most steel grades. Again, I don't understand your description of what you are trying to accomplish, but this is what I was describing: bents and bracing made from polyline solids, a glass or poly skin made from walls. (I didn't draw in a roof - but that would also be a simple matter).

That cabinet is a regular panel door with a material of Color-Bone. You need a glass panel door with a glass material assigned to it.
