Place shelf in plan, place dishes on shelf. Convert it all to a symbol, fixture interior. Cabinet DBX, specify shelves, pick one. Change to use your shelf. Adjust spacing from prior, proceed with next one. Want to really save time- make a style palette out of the cabinet when you are done for future use.

The check box is correct, tool selection P to P not ideal... For each of these you should not only be using the dimension default but have selected that dimension type. IOW not using point to point Manual Dimensions- click inside cabinet, hold button and drag to other cabinet (dim on left) End To End Dimension- do not click in the cabinet, click just in front of the first countertop you want to dimension to, hold button and drag. Snaps are set to 12 pixel radius in preferences OOB. You can use point to point- I rarely use that, but NEVER just to dimension to a counter. It can work, clicking just in front of counter, hold button down, drag to other counter NOT to other cabinet. Again just in front of the countertop. This was on a PC but doubt this would be different on Mac

If you mean pocket doors? since don't know what push back is (or CV).IF pocket then here is some of what you can do in X15. Some simple where you would float doors on top of cabinet on left. Harder is mixing cabinets on each other where some use use custom door symbols (birch cabinet partition included) For visuals you can use varied layers turned off/on. Threw this together over coffee. Somewhere I have plans, parts and assorted cabinets like this but did not go fishing. Open items and check ALL tabs in DBX Pocket dr.zip

Nope. In the past this has always been requested for open corner cabinets. Not sure why Chief can't fix this but it's been sent in for years. Open the best way is 2 cabinets. For a drawer base (see below for MHO) It can be done with 3 instead which may have some advantages. (I used a custom drawer for the applied overlays to make it look nice in Standard view) Whichever method used they can be blocked or turned into a fixture symbol to go into a schedule. IMO- I've never used one, there is almost always a more efficient solution. The attached plan shows the drawer size as hatched, a bit bigger in the rare case they use oversize glides. You are getting almost the equivalent of a 15" 3DB. Instead I add the extra width to the cabinets on each side. Increase of 18" storage width for full overlay depending on size of corner fillers. With inset cabinets that can be an increase of 20". Since corner cabinets can rarely be combined that can be another 3" accounting for stiles. and up to 23" when accounting for combined cabinet. Instead I often completely blank the corner; usually with a nice wider DB on one side; sometimes changing one to a Hafele LeMans or similar. Exactly what depends on storage needs. In any case it helps to do the math for actual storage area of each solution to show the client because folks have an emotional that is not always rational need to "recover" the corners. Play with it a bit with your layout. corner drwr.zip

An alternative is to use a fixture symbol set into wall You can use a cabinet, orignal at left, then fixture made from cabinet, then that inserted into a niche. OR you can set shelves to insert into a wall niche last on right.. Advantage is you have more control over the placement and or number of shelves AND important if you need framing. If using shelves make it oversize, place in plan, set height for one, resize as need. Transform replicate to add more shelves.

Cabinetry showing as dotted lines in Wall Elevation tool
MarkMc replied to OnlineBuilder2's topic in General Q & A
You show the layer set used for plan views. The default for a camera should be the Kitchen and Bath Elevation Layer Set. -
I think the issue is that what you show is angled AND bowed, yes? That can't be done as a single cabinet but can be done, at least I couldn't. It can be done but tricky...hHere is pic and file. Bottom moldings and feet will need attention as will side door panel. This can be blocked or perhaps turned into a symbol for multiple use. I didn't go that far, this kept me amused long enough :) Angle curved cabinet.zip

First try- File, backup entire plan, backup plan files only and send backup files to zip archive. Not usefuil if your textures are needed for answer but otherwise works often. For instance I just used that to upload a file that shows to be 4.71 MB but once backed up without anything was 711KB. If that doesn't get it small enough strip out everything but that room and the one right behind it, everything, then save as, the backup. No point in guessing without a plan file.

as the way it would be in real life? That's what I would do but it can be done as a cabinet with a few caveats. As done here what appears to be applied side panels are not the same as you show. These are on the front of the cabinet. That means that the shelf goes beyond the edge to the inside of the cabinet. There are other far more complicated ways to do it with custom door symbols but I would not (and I do a lot of stuff that should not be done How is it getting done IRL? in any case plan attached which might be instructive for something else in the future. Select the material -copy and rename or just adjust material- check global symbol mapping

The way I learned stretch planes and zones was to print out all relevant pages from the User manual (or help nowadays) and kept them on my desk for reference until I uinderstood. The hinge point is on the Y access. It will place 3/4" behind the front of the cabinet the door is in. So in this case....

Forgot to mention- FWIW around here a range that close to a wall won't fly with the inspector, nor will a standard shelf that close to a range top. YMMV
-
So turn OFF clip to room.... First adjust the end of camera focus, turn OFF clip to room, then turn on back clip after. I added shelves and a cabinet with molding to the plan you sent since there was only one shelf and no cabinet. I did have to raise the one panel up 7/8". No idea why but easy enough. I do this with niches, while the last one I did did not have cabinets inside it did have a shelf. (look familiar :-)
-
Thought some. Easier to place a wall, use shelve or wall cabinet, not a tall.
-
For placing into the Niche use the point to point tool . I'm not sure there is an icon for that, I use a hotkey. I'd also make a tall cabinet with all of the shelves adjusted but nothing else. Place the other cabinets, move them into the tall with point to point, then block, move the block in place. Plan attached. I don't see where you're measurement issues are but may be because the niche has a bottom to it? When in doubt temporarily expand the clip lines to show all of the floor and draw a cad line at finished floor- (lock Length/Angle) to see what is going on. Make Block.zip

I should have mentioned that the cabinet supplied measures 25.5 inches wide. The Y offset for the hutch side can be set to zero. Then the cabinet would measure 24. There will be some other issues in vector view that's tricky to clean up. The shelf fixture symbol might need adjustment then. Which way depends on what's most important.
-
Yes you should BUT calling it a custom cabinet door is a bit oversimplified. More like 3 custom doors and some tricky cabinet manipulation. At least the only way I know. Parts from a recent one with an adjustment close to yours I think, sides may be a little different. Open everything in the attached plan, every tab, then try on your own. ' valet cab.zip

QUESTION ABOUT UPPER CABINET WITH TWO DIFFERENT DOORS
MarkMc replied to Sandor09's topic in General Q & A
That can be a typical problem with 3d dwg depending on the original program used. I never found a simple solution but as I remember (poorly) did find a way to map textures to surfaces (slow, tedious) using TurboCad. There could be an easier way but.... There are several ez and quick methods for creating custom doors within Chief. Search the forum. I have almost entirely used doors I created in Chief for over 10 years. A few folks use Sketchup. -
I can't say why you are getting the results we see without having the symbol to look at. The DBX you posted will do nothing for it. I have a hunch it has to do with stretch planes/zones and/or origin. Partly because you have the cabinet depth set to less than the original symbol. Attached back is your plan with some options and symbols. Open the symbols and check ALL the tabs. Using a mattress with pillows creates depth problems if you are trying to size the cabinet to RL I've also included a plan that is how I would do this. I prefer using a cabinet door symbol. This allows more control over sizing. The down side to this method is you have to make a new symbol if you want to change the door style. Since I've had so few calls for these over the years (last one was a decade ago) I don't mind that. Just save the plan so you can simply change the door style, select it and the mattress and make new symbol. Copy settings from one that works. Using a mattress that has NO pillows also helps with sizing. You won't have pillows sticking out the back. This allows you to set the depth of the mattress and cabinet so they both match. My preference would be to float pillows set on a different layer. Only show when open and don't show when closed. If you only need to show open the include them as a seperate fixture attached to the back of the door so you don't run into size issues. Couple of other things. I only use base cabinets when I want a counter or a top of a different material than the cabinet. For this I would use a tall cabinet. I NEVER use frameless cabinets in Chief. Over the years I have sold very few frameless cabinetst that were not inset, 85% of have been frameless and I have always used framed in Chief. Framed cabinets with a 3/4" separation gives much more control. It also eliminates using blank space instead of separations- they are NOT the same thing and blank have some issues at times. When making symbols always check ALL the tabs of the original symbols, especially the stretch planes and origins. Original.zip Plain Mattress as Door.zip

How can I create a reeded glass partition with black frame?
MarkMc replied to westvale's topic in General Q & A
One problem is the intersection with the wall with door. Fixed that by dragging it through the pony wall while in an elevation, turning the portion to invisible., setting wall with door as "Through wall at end" To get height to ceiling open the railing wall used in the pony wall and adjust the height of the railing, need to account for floor thickness to get it right. -

Plan attached, open it and convert this to a symbol cabinet door or regular door depending on your use. Reeded glass door.zip -
Sent a PM. Looking for one long term professional client only. @KitchenLady Not sure if you read the PM but since I'm very interested and you mentioned inset thought I should put in a bit of effort. Top 2 kitchens and the hutches are my work as a KD (older); wine room, kitchen with reeded island, reeded doors and backlit perf panel are for a client. Details are from the top two kitchens.
