  1. Hmm?.. but I noticed you lose the beam doing that anyway. Try changing 'porch' to 'garage'... that works too
  2. That is odd... Don't know why it's happening, but if you change say that short porch 'wall' to 'no room definition' you'll get your exterior door.
  3. Hi Steve, looks like you figured this out, and I haven't looked into it other than reading your post. The sentence of yours I quoted just warranted a quick comment in case you're unaware...but if a roof is snapping to something you don't want it to, there is a checkbox in the middle of the 'general' tab labeled No Special Snapping. If you check that you can sometimes solve problems related to roof snapping.
  4. If you really need to model it, then you'll need to do as Mike or Joe suggest above. I just put a note with an arrow (Like a roof slope arrow) calling out the slope and direction.
  5. Ya, for sure you'd need to model it if you're using it as part of the house as you've done. Looks nice. I assume in reality you'd need some kind of framework to hold those screens in place? Were you able to finish the 'sprig' panel using the tips from Michael and Ben above?
  6. Yes, that limitation can be a no-go for sure. Was thinking that most likely a landscape screen would really only be needed for enhancing 3D views.
  7. Really interesting... I hope that we'll get more insight into this from Chief. Before I gave up (before you and Ben got involved) I had managed to separate out the picture onto it's own layer, but after the 2nd literally 10-minute choking session my computer went through I had to call it quits. Very curious why marquee select avoids the problem.
  8. Great idea Glenn!... I had thought of mentioning use of a see-through billboard as I've frequently seen it used in games, but I didn't know if or how to achieve it in Chief.
  9. Ya, I can see that the Sprig design would be impossible with muntins. It was just a thought when I saw one of the other designs was comprised of 'lines' of the same width. I opened your plan and was working in it without any problems, and then I clicked on the outer frame and that brought my computer to it's knees. I didn't want to play anymore after that, but I have to believe there's a better way. You might try using arcs.
  10. If you can't find a workable solution, you might consider trying using a 'window' with custom muntins.
  11. You can combine your PDF's into one using PDF tools available in many different PDF softwares. PDF Xchange is one example
  12. If you select that big cell 'room' on the left and uncheck 'floor under this room' in the structure panel all footings shade correctly. If you look at a 3D view of your foundation plan you can see there's something weird going on.. you have what appears to be open cells in the middle when looking down, but looking up from underneath they show as filled, and you can see a layer of a slightly different color concrete in some areas, which I believe is slab material. There's definitely more amiss here than just the foundation fill missing.
  13. @ACADuser Well... if you break those footings where shown in my screenshot you'll get fill on the parts not adjacent to the slab... so this tells me that the fill issue has something to do with that adjacent slab... but as of yet I can't tell you what
  14. GIMP is free and very good...not particularly easy per se... but lots of YouTube videos to explain almost anything.
  15. I've never done a 360 background myself, but I've done large curved ones that do almost 180... and I've never had issue with the sun
  16. Here's the plan with the opening, but as Eric says, you have to do the casing manually. Schwantz_r1.plan
  17. Haven't done one manually... but FYI there are some in the catalogs... look in Kohler, Verdera line
  18. It's spiced pumpkin season.... spiced apple comes afterward
  19. Did you try selecting 'ceiling over this room' in the structure panel of your patio room?
  20. That's an excellent graphic Michael, I wish I'd seen that when I first started. The whole garage floor thing gave me some grief early on in the learning curve. Curious if you know whether setting the 'floor supplied by foundation room below' is pulling the same behind the curtains strings as setting the room to 'open below'?
  21. In general that's not a bad idea, but just in case you're not aware, the Delete Objects tool in the Edit menu, will let you delete just the framing or even just certain types of the framing.
  22. Thx Michael. Hmmm... okay, so it is do-able... but holy cow whatabuncha monkeying around... sigh. I guess once you get it set up in the SPV it's mostly self regulating. I'll give it a try.
  23. Thx Robert ... hmmmph... grumble grumble...
