  1. Be sure that the laptop is using the dedicated video card with the latest video driver. Otherwise post the hardware specifics so that others using the same can comment. And it appears you are using X15 but let people know what rendering technique you are attempting to use and if any of the others work.
  2. I have noticed that as well and it does not seem to serve any useful purpose that I have been able to think of. Perhaps if it was a sticky option it may come in handy for something ?
  3. Not unless you convert it to a symbol after you build it.
  4. Well that was pretty quick. Congratulations.
  5. Something like this and then possibly some manual editing...
  6. How about a roof plane with rafters and purlins but no sheathing or shingles ?
  7. I did not find the saved camera view but it seems to be fine on my system and from the windows I think this is the approximate angle. Not sure what to suggest unless you have another system to test on perhaps see if the other card might be able to generate a standard view for you. I am not aware of any settings that could actually create that condition unless every plan material was set to be more transparent than glass. Possibly a tech support case in the morning.
  8. Not sure if I can help or not as I have not seen that situation before but if you save that camera and post the plan file someone else can see if it works with different hardware.
  9. There may be still a few issues with the new system. I tried a manufacture update the old way today and got this error message. Not sure what it means ?
  10. Pretty sure that is just a 3D perspective view of some solids with materials applied and sent to layout then some text labels in layout.
  11. You could build a symbol and assign a cad block similar to the way joist hangers are done. Not very auto though.
  12. There are also plenty of other formatting options that can be accomplished with macro's depending on the region you are working in and the timeframe the survey was done and sometimes even the personal style of the individual surveyor. Trailing zero's is a common modern one to confirm the level of accuracy used in doing the survey.
  13. No CA setting for that. It can be done with a very complex macro and referenced line label.
  14. That is definitely an understatement. I have had to manually build lookouts because of that situation and then had them jump to the other roof plane when the plan is closed and reopened.
  15. Use the 2x6 studs in your wall definition and then add the posts manually in the wall detail by modifying a stud. Unfortunately you cant have two stud sizes in a wall or two walls in the same space. If you want it all auto you may be able to make it work with alternating wall types. But the other makes your construction details make a bit more sense if you use wall details.
  16. It always seems to take a 4 year old to set things straight. Funny how you get a certain word or three stuck in your head and can't get it out even with a good screen shot... "Outrigger" "Lookout" "Outlooker" "Thingamajigger"
  17. I forget what causes them to float. I sent that in so long ago I figured they had it fixed. Check the "Automatic Height" setting.
  18. No. This is not a CA option. Copy and paste or save one to library for general use.
  19. It looks like you have some there Rob... Try to copy and paste.
  20. Typically if there is an issue where they don't generate it is on one side of the roof and not the other, so I copy and reflect usually, at least for me that is usually what happens. If I have a situation where there are none I have one in my library that I can pull out and apply. Pretty sure I have posted that before.
  21. I am certainly not a trim expert but it seems to work for me. Rooms allow multiple moldings and multiple profiles for each molding but a molding polyline also allows multiple profiles and then you can use multiple molding lines. Not sure I understand what the issue is ?
  22. You can group select all the windows at once and do it with one entry. At least all the windows on one floor anyway.
  23. Yes things are a little different in X15.. It seems you are building with rafters but you have yet you have trusses set to display in your dialogue box diagrams. I think you need to go back to your build roof menu and set that up for rafters and the appropriate birds mouth. Then things will behave for you as expected.
