You should really be posting over in the HomeTalk Forum... https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/?_fromLogin=CA3 This forum here is for users of Chief Architect Premier.

You’re not providing enough detail. I don’t know if you’re printing from plan, printing from layout, printing the current screen, using Chief’s built in PDF printer, using another PDF printer, etc. etc. in addition, you haven’t answered the question as to whether or not you can see the embedded PDFs in your newly printed PDF file or not. Is it the PDF they don’t show up on, it just the paper? And what color and lineweights are the embedded PDF elements composed of?
-
Also, what do you mean by “converted the CAD to a PDF file“? And does the embedded PDF show up in that resulting PDF before printing?
-
What do you mean by “print from the CAD file”? Walk us through how you are printing.

If you're talking about the stacked fractions, unfortunately, that isn't something Chief is currently capable of.

Rocky, your problem seems to be that you’re reading things very nonchalantly without any regard for the proper definitions of the terminology being used. Nobody at any time told you to use an Eyedropper or a Material Painter. In fact, I believe someone specifically told you NOT to. What we all told you several times was to CHANGE your Wall Type. This is a very important Chief Architect term. Changing the Material is not changing the Wall Type. You need to change the Wall Type.

Just to be clear, I'm recommending something a little different than what Eric showed. I'm talking about reading the Release Notes at every single upgrade (including simple version updates). Take this current example... We've had the option to select No Room Moldings since X11, but the separate options for Interior and Exterior weren't actually added with the upgrade to X12, they were snuck in with the 22.2.0.54 update...

You're welcome. For the record though, I didn't make it or anything. I think it's one that I just picked up here on the forum that someone else shared. I actually needed the reminder myself. I don't remember the last time I updated it.

Here's the one from my User Catalog by the way... Fireplace Vent.calibz

Time to Update Library Catalogs maybe. I had one of those in my User Catalog, but my Core Catalog actually doesn't have one either. Must be a relatively new addition. Running an update now myself.

I would encourage all of y'all to get into the habit of reading the Release Notes every single time you upgrade. Take the time to make sure you understand each new feature that's been added or changed, and wherever relevant, test each one out. I'd say it's probably the single best way to help make sure keep abreast of any changes. Plus, it will also help you explore and discover little tools and capabilities you either never knew or forgot about. It's seriously one of my favorite exercises in Chief. I always love going through the Release Notes.

Save As, give the file a new name, and then delete/replace all the appropriate items.

Elevations and sections: foreground accented, rear in fog
Alaskan_Son replied to GeneDavis's topic in General Q & A
Read my post above. Send as PLOT LINES. Then follow Joey's directions using the EDIT LAYOUT LINES tool. P.S. I personally think the masking is typically more efficient. -
Window and Door Label size vs R/O sizes wrong?
Alaskan_Son replied to asimons's topic in General Q & A
Those sizes are being called out in feet and inches. This is common nomenclature in many (most) areas for windows and doors. -
Elevations and sections: foreground accented, rear in fog
Alaskan_Son replied to GeneDavis's topic in General Q & A
You know, I think you’re right. He was. I guess my real point was that it can be done in either plan or layout and that there are benefits to each. Done in layout for example it will also potentially “fog” your annotation items which could be bad. Really just depends on the situation. -

And you can also do the same thing in layout instead of in plan depending on what you're after. Of particular value in layout is using solid fills (no transparency) to mask those pesky lines you have in certain views that you otherwise have to remember to delete every time your refresh the view. -
That's where they get sent automatically, but you can click on the Components tab and Object Information tab and change whatever you want to get them to report to wherever you want. Here I have a beach ball set to report to the Framing category as a treated 4x12 deck beam...

move location of saved camera views in project browser
Alaskan_Son replied to Lighthouse's topic in General Q & A
There's not. You have to create those views using the proper camera type: Full Cameras get saved to their respective Floor Orthographic/Perspective Full Overviews get saved to Overviews Orthographic/Perspective Floor Overviews get saved to their respective Floor Orthographic/Perspective Framing Overviews get saved to Overviews My suggestion to you would be to stop using the Full Overview and Framing Overview cameras and use the others instead. For the framing views, all you really have to do is switch the appropriate Layer Set. -

You need to send as Plot Lines. You made this comment earlier in the thread or else I would have mentioned it before... The fact is that you can also use Point To Point Move and get snaps if you are using Plot Lines. You can even snap to various lines in order to reshape your stacked views. I personally use Plot Lines almost exclusively, but they're not "Live" Views which is why I chose not to respond before now. They can of course be updated, but then you lose your edits. One of the benefits of using a filled polyline like Ryan suggested (can be done either in plan or in layout by the way) is that the views can be updated without having to redo all your Edit Layout Line work. -
story pole dimensions from floor instead of absolute
Alaskan_Son replied to DianeP's topic in General Q & A
Manually positioned markers and custom macros. Post that plan along with your current story pole dims here soon enough and I'll give you some quick tips on the house before I need to head out. -
Here you go. I offer custom tutorial videos as a service, but this first one is on the house. Hope it helps
