  1. Not exactly true. Do a Save As of the SKP model and during the process, choose an older version on the file type dropdown.
  2. X8 should be able to utilize any version 15 and prior.
  3. Never tried it until just now, but I'm not sure why this is "obvious". Why wouldn't reflections display when using the standard rendering technique? It doesn't actually make a lot of sense to me. I can see maybe no reflections for items behind the camera, but why no reflections for peripheral objects? If for example I take a cross section view at an angle to the mirror, it really doesn't make sense why there would be no reflections.
  4. You can easily do this by opening the filler you already created and just unchecking "filler".
  5. Did you try a wall elevation using the standard rendering technique?
  6. Yes it would. I'm not at my computer right now. Maybe when I get back I'll make a quick video...if someone hasn't helped you out before then.
  7. The closest thing to "create detail" would be using CAD Detail From View...in a blank plan if you want to avoid cropping the excess. Drawing actual sections of wall off to the side has its benefits though. If you ever make any changes to one of the wall types, the wall section will automatically update.
  8. Whenever I have things that don't want to show up, I usually try switching to an expendable layerset, selecting all, checking "display" and changing the color for all layers to black. By doing this you can narrow the problem down.
  9. Just to be certain… You did build the foundation, correct?
  10. Are you trying to make a sort of wall schedule, key, or legend? If so, I personally usually just draw a small length of each wall type off to the side somewhere along with the appropriate text and just send that to layout. You could also draw a section of each wall type and then do a CAD detail from view.
  11. It sounds like you might be missing a step. Did you use the tool Johnny suggested… Tools>Layout>Referenced Plan Files? All you should have to do is change the plan file.
  12. What are you using in that location now? I would typically build that out of a single cabinet. Left and right frame/stile widths set accordingly.
  13. That's not exactly true. Granted, it wouldn't be as automated, but there are a lot of possible replacement methods using 3D moulding polylines and even polyline solids. Definitely not as automated or intelligent, but doable.
  14. Definitely have to switch back and forth. Once importing into Chief all you have is a simple 3D symbol. Essentially the only real edits you can make to it are naming, sizing, and material changes. I would encourage you to find another method inside Chief instead. Where there's a will, there's usually a way.
  15. Okay...The plot thickens. If you center all those glass panels on that railing wall (they're not actually in a perfect line as they are), all but one of them are fixed. If you align that railing wall with the wall below, all glass panels drop down and disappear. If you move the wall just a tiny bit further toward the lake though instead, ALL the glass panels work. Definitely something amiss.
  16. Hey Johnny, in case you already read it, I deleted my last post because the more I messed around with your plan the more uncertain I became. I think I found the issue you were having with the glass railings. They all display in plan and their "From Floor" settings are all the same, HOWEVER, if you change the setting to absolute, they ARE NOT the same. If you make the absolute settings match, they all behave just fine. Problem is that they're getting their "from floor" numbers from somewhere else. I think it has something to do with your terrain... I don't deal with modified terrain very often and so I'm not very familiar with all the little idiosyncrasies however I do know that your terrain is displaying in plan view instead of that terrace room which seems odd. I also know that if you start deleting the terrain, those glass railings start to move. For some reason, they're getting their "from floor" numbers from the terrain.
  17. Here's a quick video. Probably not much help unless you catch something I'm doing differently. It all seems to work for me though.
  18. Never mind, I found it, and that works for me as well. Not sure what to tell ya.
  19. I can select and adjust elevations for those glass panels just fine. Haven't been able to locate the moulding polyline in question yet though. Can you describe where in the plan it is?
  20. Can you attach the plan? I wouldn't mind taking a look. I could only reproduce the problem on my end by toggling Connect CAD Segments off.
  21. Yes. I realize that. I guess my point was that the bumping and pushing settings you mentioned make no difference with regard to using Point To Point Move or Transform/Replicate. Toggling bumping/pushing off however DOES offer an alternative solution to the bounding box issue.
  22. I only ever get the preview when I click on on item or use the arrow keys to scroll through the list.
  23. Do you have Connect CAD Segments toggled off?
  24. You are correct, and your solution was a good one, however point to point and transform/replicate work no matter what your bumping/pushing settings are and if bumping and pushing is toggled off entirely, bounding box becomes irrelevant.
