Rick, When I download a new library file from Chief, I just double click the file and it self-installs. Jim

I believe it's caused by this setting under Preferences / Appearance. If you set it to "0" then text will not adjust when you scroll in or out.

Alan, my interpretation is with a sprinklered residence and garage, there is no requirement addressing the door leaf construction. Only the hardware -- the door must self-close and -latch. You could contact the building official for a verdict. That said, I would be inclined to call out a 20 minute or solid core door that is self closing and latching even if the house is sprinklered. It's not much extra money and you can always exceed the code requirement especially when it comes to life safety. Jim

I have one project "Davenport" and another "Reynolds." I'd like to bring over existing CAD Details (sheet notes) from first project to the next. Thanks Joey. I checked that and it does not seem to be the case. I uploaded the plan. I did notice I can drag the walls tops to infill and produce the frieze. I guess that's a good workaround, but maybe not best practice. TEST.plan Jim

Good morning, I'm working on an as-built of an older house with masonry exterior walls. My gable end walls currently stop at the underside of the roof rafters, which I think is normal. Are Chief wall plan hatch directions always based on the direction of the wall? See masonry wall snapshot below. Is there an option to set the hatch direction so it is fixed "globally" in one direction like hand-drafting? P.S. I first thought that Chief hatch directions might be always object based, but I did a little test with a hatched polyline box. The hatch patterns there seem to behave "globally". Thank you, Jim

Rich, I think that's what I already do. But, I found I needed to manually input some of the new materials from my wall in order to exactly match same materials in existing walls. Jim

I too didn't know they were called "floating" until earlier today! Seems very "ethereal." Jim

Quick question - I wanted to know if there is a way to bring over a whole layer definition from an existing wall when I am building a new wall type? For example, if I want my "lap siding" from another wall -- complete with pattern, texture, fill and thickness -- can I say copy/paste it into the new wall type? The reason I ask is Autocad Architecture (my basis of reference) allows this and I was hoping Chief does too. It is a bit of a time saver. Thanks again, Jim
