OK, I think this is a better solution: I created a fixture symbol designed to cut the wall it hangs off of. It is placed on its own dashed layer, so looks graphically acceptable in plan. Credit goes to some past forum posts (Alaskan Son et al). Updated PLAN attached. See clouded area. Jim ADOBE TIMBER LINTEL TEST.plan

Joan, I took a stab at this. I modified a Fixed Door object to serve as a timber lintel that you can manually place above a door or window. Looks good in 3D, but has a big graphical problem in plan display -- the lintel shows up and cuts the wall where it preferably would be hidden or dashed in plan display. I imagine someone smarter than me can figure this out! But, maybe this is a start. PLAN attached. Jim P.S. I was really into adobe architecture in college so this brought me back. Hi Shane. I believe a material. PLAN attached if you are able to take a gander. - Jim SCREEN PANEL TEST.plan

Greetings, I've created a porch screen panel millwork symbol with stretch planes. When I resize the panel, my screen infill material "stretches." I would like the grid hatch to not stretch and remain at 1x1. Thanks again for any tips. Jim

You can create a terrain perimeter hole that you can manually edit to follow the stairwell. Select your terrain perimeter object and then click this option:

Can Home Designer files be imported into Chief Architect Premier?

Seems like it. See help section: -

Ok - idea #2 -- on my porch (below) I offset the shed roof -6 inches in Z direction. Result is the front porch beam drops but side beam stays put. Do you think your roof is lower than the porch room plate height?
-
One possibility (but kind of doubt it) is you have a vertical offset for the railing beam...

Preventing Base Cabinet/Countertop From Auto-Extending to Wall

Not sure. I suppose you could turn off for all and then go back and manually add the fillers where you need them? Maybe others know a better way? -
Preventing Base Cabinet/Countertop From Auto-Extending to Wall

I think you need to turn off auto cabinet fillers in cabinet defaults: -
Thanks Mark for the input. In the end I wound up making a 3D face as roof infill. Can't say the endpoint snapping was easy though. Jim

Alan, I took a stab at it. Attached. 1) I put a break in the level 2 exterior wall (at corner where the split level occurs). 2) Full height exterior stucco wall here. 3) You had a gap between roof plane edge and stucco wall. I moved roof in. 4) Changed wall type here to be Interior-4 if roof plane abuts (wall with pony wall). Jim RHK DD V1a.zip

Greetings, I'm trying to model an existing roof that has some funky roof plane infills where a bunch of dissimilar roofs come together. You can see it below, sort of sloped triangular roof planes: Here's where I'm at. So far so good... So, I want to fill in at spots (1) and (2) below. I thought I'd use the 3D face tool for the first time and call it a day (seemed easier than trying to do it with roof planes). But, I'm having trouble snapping to the right 3D points in 3D view with the 3D Face tool. Any tips? Is the 3D Face tool the right hammer for this nail? Thanks again, Jim

I was messing around with the settings and somehow my auto roof got deleted and now won't regenerate. Probably something simple, but can't figure it out. Plan attached. Any insight greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Jim GRADY - AS-BUILTS.plan

It's not normal. I had problems with my first install of X17. You might consider doing a repair installation:

Thanks Shane for looking into this. It did not have a stretch plane. But, I figured it out. I had based the panel on an original Chief "diamond rail panel," which I just resized to make wider. However, the original Chief square shape carried through even though I had resized it (?). The fix was I (re-)converted the panel to a millwork symbol and that worked. Jim
