Any chance you have turned off Auto Rebuild for your Terrain Perimeter (TP) ? only thing that comes to mind off hand as I don't think auto framing off cause that, perhaps as TS though as likely they have it in the reported Issues. M.

At the Default Settings for an export of the Active Window, except the DPI , which ! use 300 DPI with Pixels not Units the files are 200-500Kb in Size and the Snipping Tool does about the same and I find I sometime prefer the Snipping Tool Images for some reason. At Chief's Default settings with 72DPI ( which is web browser standard of old ) things look blurry on my 2K monitor, but I found 600DPI doesn't change much as far as "Resolution" visually on a Monitor, for a Graphic Artist it may indeed be better. The Big difference, is seen when you Set the Default Pixels to Units , then the File Size and Resolution can be nearly unlimited , and file sizes massive as you noted BUT visually if viewed on a monitor or in a Layout PDF, I don't see much real difference , so I think the OP would need to know what Standards and Size the Graphic Designer Needs before outputting, and some skill at post processing is likely a good thing as well. I may have missed it somewhere in the Manual but I don't think the need to Set Pixels to Units do do this is mentioned, just that it "alters size" but this is a screengrab for those not familiar with it....

I have use Topaz Gigapixel for 3-4 years , but this year they released Topaz Phot AI which incorporates their 4 former Apps, Gigapixel is the only only one still being developed on it own now though. TOPAZ LABS

I'd say copy your post into a TS case with these example plans and let them look at it , as Dormers can be a lot of work and really shouldn't be. * you are right I didn't catch Chief Autowalled the upper LH side with a 2x4 Attic Wall previous plan has it as 2x6 I believe. M.

Accurate dimension lines when applying side panels to kitchen cabinets
Kbird1 replied to Vicki17's topic in General Q & A
This does work in newer versions perhaps X15 and X16 ? now hence the adding Signature Tip, I was assuming that if that didn't work , they must be using an older version, but maybe they just aren't aware of the Setting either? M. -
Not recently, as it hasn't in the Past , Screenshots with the Snipping Tool do as good or better, I found, hence the Comment as believe me I have tried. Maybe it is working better in X16 ? M.

Hmmm not a legitimate Question DB ? M

If Photoshop or the Free Gimp are not you thing, give PixPlant a try , I think there is a trial version and the cost is low for single practitioners with special pricing. PIXPLANT M.

Have you tried it in X16 ? I haven't but it didn't really used to make much difference in the past that I noticed..... the default exports are a bit lacklustre. M.

Accurate dimension lines when applying side panels to kitchen cabinets
Kbird1 replied to Vicki17's topic in General Q & A
Hi, Unfortunately no, you are not missing a setting, Auto Panels do not Dimension , you have to use small CAD lines ( make them look like Ext. lines ) or make yourself some End Panels from the Appropriate Cabinet Type, 3/4" thick and save them in your User Library and then drop them into plan from your Library. there are Threads Here on doing that. A Tip from Me would be to add your Forum Signature as so answers are Version specific , see Mine below , but knowing OS, Chief Version and sometimes Computer hardware is useful. -
Not really for onscreen Viewing unfortunately, but you could add this as a suggestion for higher Res. exports over in the Suggestions Forum, but that maybe a Standard Camera and PBR will look better , but lighting will need to be worked with. M.

Looking for Ribbon 24x48 Wood Look Porcelain Tile
Kbird1 replied to Rosco2017's topic in Symbols and Content
I think you could just use 2 different Wall Materials Regions for this , with two slightly different materials , same as you would for a Field Tile with a decorative Band or Stripe. M. -
The Rendering Artist might know, Jintu goes goes by the Name Chiefer Here , but no way to know if that is one of his designs or a Clients ? @Chiefer I'd start with a standard wall , and use a Passageway off the Door Menu and give it an arch top and configure the Casings as needed, then do the Columns out of Solids, as the don't interact with the walls and mess things up. Mick.

Hi Gene , sorry busy week , I just had a quick look and fixed things up, but it's not Automatic for sure in this case, I haven't looked at Steve's plan, I just wanted to have a look at this myself but unfortunately I don't really have any Insights for you, it was just 20-30 mins trying stuff until one fix didn't ruin another. X15 --> X16 / Changed Manually Adjusted Dimensions
Kbird1 replied to JKEdmo's topic in General Q & A
Thanks for the Heads Up Jim.... M. -
If there is a one method that works in all situations, I haven't found it either but hey I've only been playing with Chief for 15 yrs or so still learning..... M.

Oh no problem at all Brett, I was the only one around on Sat. ( working ) is all, the more the merrier especially with quirkiness like this...... sometimes Dormer go easy, sometimes not for seemingly no reason. The Pic above appears to be the same problem in the 1st post though. Mick.
-
Sorry Gene wasn't here yest. but it appears to me from the Pic you have let the Roof planes cut into the walls again and not notched the Roof Planes around the walls. the wall on the Left it now occurs to me does not need Roof cuts walls set as you want it down to the Floor , I am not sure about the right hand side though?
-
Not sure why this one is so hard? did you try cutting and pasting that cheek wall up on to the attic level ? then dragging left?, it might destroy the exterior wall again though. M.
-
maybe i wasn't clear enough? i meant shape the room wall and drag it left under the cheek wall. M.
-
I would normally shot a elevation camera at the wall and then in Elevation Shape the wall as needed under the Cheek wall.... if that fails the old standby 3D Solid also in elevation? * it appears you have no floor structure in that small attic area in the pic above. M.

That's a bit confusing.... it works well with FF but doesn't ? M.
