  1. I can'r find a way to get to a 12" radius using the 'F' key filet tool, only the filet tool on the tool bar actually works, which is of course the reason for your first post. Can't explain it but I agree, it ain't right.
  2. Didn't check the actual radius I too just figured it would be 12". Weird - and not in a good way.
  3. Strange, Vid works perfect here. Anyway try this. Grab the corner, hold down the 'F' key, move the corner, press the tab key, enter x/y values, bang, filet. Hope that helps Wonder why you can't see the vid. Hmmm
  4. This might be what you're looking for.
  5. Took 1:35.12 on my 110plus. Color, fast setting. 6 minutes? There's got be something amiss. Sorry can't print again. Is it gray scale that's taking the time? That's still triple the time. Weird.
  6. Alan, first thing, in the drop down that says normal go in there and choose fast. And maybe 'Drawings text' and see if that helps.
  7. Cannons look nice and wipe the floor over HP's in speed tests http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1116309-REG/canon_9854b002aa_imageprograf_ipf670_large_format_inkjet.html
  8. Print to PDF then took 1:38 on 'fast' setting to print page below. Never timed it before - seems way longer.
  9. My HP110 is no where near that slow. Are you printing full color? Highest res? I print to PDF first, because the 110 chokes on big files, then print 'fast' to the 110. I'll time a typical sheet when I get time.
  10. Thanks Jon, I've seen the T520 but haven't researched it much recently. Are you happy with it? Print house is a long way from me too but the contractors who use them are right next door so it works out.
  11. Yeah I hear you about printing in house, doing much less myself but for a few sheets it's pretty nice and of course a person can print while still drawing but yeah those large plan sets just take too long to print.
  12. I was wondering what printer you are currently using for printing 'in house' or if you print in house at all? Do you print 24 x 36? 11 x 17? I have an older HP 110plus that's been really reliable over the 10 or more years I've owned it and use it less and less as I've begun using a print house instead but occasionally it's really nice to print a couple or three corrected sheets in house. It's getting near upgrade time and was wondering what was good and reliable out there currently. Thanks
  13. That was really strange, something I'd never seen. Glad you got it solved.
  14. Another non-automated version of key notes - takes 2 minutes to set-up and works better - for me.
  15. Chiefs' Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ChiefArchitect/?fref=nf
  16. 3 monitors is surprisingly nice. I watch New Egg for deals and picked up a 32" for $399 not long ago. Right now I have this window open on one, a video from a job walk open on another, and my main monitor has a Chief plan I'm working on. The 32" monitor is really nice (Acer B326HUL) and I think a 30" like Alan suggests is money well spent. My second is a 27" and I have an old 19" that's been around forever. Can't find a down side to 3 monitors but again waiting for sales is the way to go IMO..
  17. Thought so - Thanks Joey. Tedious but doable.
  18. Is there a way to 'notch' stairs around walls? I'm trying to get a stairway to follow some wall notches. Is there a way? Bad picture attached.
  19. The parameters for a good Chief computer rarely change and they are mainly IMO budget driven. You want fast and powerful in every component. Fastest CPU, fastest GPU (Graphics card), fastest memory, (Chief is not a memory hog 16 gb should be plenty) fastest hard drive, solid power supply, best cooling - you can afford. A good system can be custom/self built for under $2000 pretty easily. Custom built from suppliers as mentioned above, more like $2500. I lucked out and got the system in my signature for $2500.00 built by a custom shop though I usually build my own. Before you buy post the specs here in case you missed something important.
  20. You probably lost a wall connection somewhere. Drag each wall corner away from and back to each corner. It can be pretty hard to find them sometimes but it's there most likely. ...or you have a couple walls spec'd as 'no room definition' - that'll pretty much do it every time.
  21. Select directly over the item you want then hit the tab key until it is highlighted. Works for every similar operation.
