Since adding CA to the new PC my toolbars are not like I want them, I like the pull down version. How can I change that instead of the pallette? I have looked into the settings and can't figure it out.

noted chop........this was a plan already started several weeks ago so maybe something just crossed.

first time building a roof since downloading onto the new PC. I thought a fresh download of CA wouldn't be defaulted to degrees. Built the roof and changed a roof plane in the dbx manually. should be good now.....

Hey guys, how do we change this to where it is not set on angles? I am still tweaking my settings on the new PC.

Which PDF software do you prefer for Windows?
winterdd replied to Electromen's topic in General Q & A
Adobe pro for me.....used it for years and I like it. Sometimes I see a text error when I print my chief plans so I just modify the pdf in adobe instead of reprinting. -
how are you liking the new Alienware?

Good feedback guys, I have done it in the past but it has been long time since. 36x48 is a good option until the wind starts blowing it around on the site lol.

How many of you have ventured off into this scale to avoid having to rotate the floorplan and got read the riot act? Yes, I know it goes way back to keep floorplans at 1/4" but more than half the homes I do are too big to fit on 24x36. Just curious, not a big deal really but If you can pull out a scale and read 1/4"=1'-0" why not 3/16"? It's on their for some reason right haha......

I agree and have thought about this but I would only print when they are 100% happy and no more changes to the home which would cut down printer usage. It would also be beneficial to have a full size print of the floorplan to markup during meetings without having to run down the road for the 3 sheet minimum. My 8.5X11 prints just won't cut it as it is now.

yeah, I have searched for laser jets but no luck for this size.

Right now I just charge for what it costs me at the plot shop which is roughly $2 a sheet. Most people want atleast two prints and I average about 18 sheets for a set of plans. I do multiple homes per month so $900 won't hurt me nowadays. Tax write off as well. They have this printer in a local office depot. They charge $3 a sheet and it prints damn good. awesome clarity.

I charge for prints per sheet whether I use a plot shop or were to buy a printer. I am looking at some HP printers for about a grand. I don't want any big obnoxious ones taking up space on a stand. Here is one that got my attention a while back.......for what I need it for this will be just fine since I won't print on a daily basis.

very true....looking at some HP 24" printers. It will pay for itself in no time.

Just wondering what you all may use these for. They make for a more professional set of plans in my opinion but prints can be nasty if the ink settings are off.

I even tried that 1.4375" on the stemwall air gap but apparently had it on the main layer. Thanks
