  1. Downloaded the CA update but is this the latest and greatest driver I need per my sig? NVIDIA site can be confusing and I don't want to download something for unnecessary.
  2. This is good to hear, I crashed several times today and lost a lot of work this time. Usually just 5 minutes or so of work. Today, there was no warning, it just shut off. PBRT was working when it happened.
  3. Right on Chopsaw! I'm definitely interested. I found another article on this and it was not in depth but they got it to work somehow. It went on saying how they liked the new method in X12.
  4. How do you guys handle the valley boards laying flat instead of chief treating it like a new build roof on home additions? Polyline solids? Attached is mine and then a pic of the "real world" type of construction. Grey lines are existing and blue is new construction. Just trying to show it exact. I'll be honest I have always left it as shown because they get the idea but I really need to improve this from now on.
  5. Sounds like a polyline solid kind of job. I did that type of wall on a raised beach home to help break wind gusts underneath.
  6. You can get Dell's with 3080's all day long.
  7. yep, that was it. it was the baseline height.
  8. Anyone know why this happens? It is not common for me but has happened here and there. If I delete the roof over it it goes away and the beam drops back down to the post. It's just a simple shed roof over it.
  9. I like those methods.....I will do that. I was just hoping there was a setting for it.
  10. So, I found where I can change the sizes of electrical items like can lights and such in the default settings. Where can I do the same for things like washers, dryers and fridges so I can save it in my plan template for future jobs?
  11. I basically do nothing and do not mess with any settings or lighting & my 3080 produces great PBR's even with the defaults.
  12. This happened to me the other day when I was using floor trusses. I ended up adding the rim boards in manually and it worked great. Not sure why they didn't auto generate.
  13. Besides the crashes in CA I am loving it.
  14. I saw that before.....what exactly does that do?
  15. I figured it was the cooling fans. It doesn't surprise me. Thanks guys.
  16. Just curious.......I now have the 3080 video card and the PBR's are insanely clean and realistic. I have noticed if I keep the rendering open for a bit, the computer starts roaring like a NASA rocket ship ready to take off. It stops when I close the rendering. Is there a lot going on with the video card when that happens?
  17. Thanks for the suggestion guys. This will be the last home I annotate elevations in layout since it is almost done. I will go back to calling out in plan file and figure out the text issue.
  18. I will say that once I started using "labels" that really has helped in other views. However, elevations are different.
  19. Advice taken Rene.....it has just seemed easier. It avoids text hitting text and trying to fit the view on the sheet once the labeled views are brought into layout. If that makes sense.
  20. For those of us who call out material in layout views; is there a way to lock them in place if the views change in size? In this situation the house size grew and the existing layout views needed stretching to capture the new area. As soon as those grips are pulled the callouts go nuts. Been battling this for several years and just now decided to ask.
  21. got it, thanks.....worked great.
  22. So, all I wanted to do is snap a screenshot of white subway tile with black grout and add it to library. I came up with this. Do we "snip" the .png a certain way to avoid the grout lines from doing this? Both screenshots below........
  23. Buy CA legally and put it on a credit card if you do not have the cash right now. It will pay for itself in no time.
