  1. I have gotten used to making my caps like shown below for quite a while now. Is there a better way to achieve brick caps instead of having to uncheck "full wall width" and manipulate the number just to get the cap to overhang the brick stem wall? It works great but obviously isn't constructed like this in the real world. It is also shown wrong in cross sections. The cap should only be covering the brick part of the wall. Just trying to get better folks.
  2. I had to downsize the screen size setting on my huge monitor and found them hiding in the extreme right. Maybe try that.
  3. As much of a pain and disappointment it is with all these crashes, even after buying a $3k computer with a 3080 card and plenty of power, I must say, the one good thing about X13 is I never lose more than 5 minutes of work. I don't mind redoing the last command but multiple times a day is unacceptable. I can only hope we don't have to "baby" the upcoming releases. As a paying customer I feel we can be a little irritated with this without getting grilled. X12 was the best ever in my opinion.
  4. Joined and put down that I was referred by your company. Thanks Joey!
  5. Yes, Definitely made sure to form an LLC a while back.
  6. I agree on this, I have something similar.
  7. This is good! How hard to become a member? I have heard of the company but never researched them. Sounds like it has many helpful benefits.
  8. I cannot get State Farm to issue me an E&O policy. Their reasoning is engineer's check/stamp my work. Very aggravating actually.
  9. Just wondering how engineer's in your area operate. Take for instance myself. Once I am complete with a full plan set, the client's choose an engineer from my suggestions and then I send off the dwg files to them to do their work. Some times they change the framing members, footers etc. and stamp their own work on THEIR drawing borders and we slip them into my plans. The county then views my work as the architectural drawings and their's as the engineered ones and still want them ALL to keep in their filing system. There have been a few times I have been asked by an engineer to change things and they stamp my actual work on MY borders. Just curious to see how other parts of the nation operate when it comes to designer's and engineer's. I have requests now and then of people who live in rural areas who do not require a stamp and making the liability greater on myself and I am wondering if I should stop doing those homes. How do you guys deal with homes not requiring stamps?
  10. I sell stock plans but have never had a request for the CAD files except from engineer's when they stamp my work. I convert to the .dwg files and let them clean them up for their purposes. Keeps them from drawing things from scratch.
  11. I seem to be good on windows 11.
  12. I agree. Salem, CT location? I have in laws that live in Putnam, CT. Right near you.
  13. Also, I quit calling businesses. The world we live in today, no one actually answers, just automated calls. The TRICK I learned is the chat button on their website. You will get a human in seconds to chat with, no wait time. Atleast that is how it is for me.
  14. Man I hate to hear this. I ordered my dell alieneware with the 3080 in mid December. They gave a January 26th 2022 arrival date but I received it two weeks earlier than they estimated. What does your order status look like? Mine sat in order phase for weeks but once it went into production it was here in no time. I have had good luck with HP'S just so you know to keep them in mind.
  15. dual 27's here as well. I have worked with duals so long I could never go back to a single. Left side is my CA side and the right side is anything from the web I need, youtube blaring heavy metal or client's pictures, etc.
  16. I developed a lot of projects on an HP for three years. I have it as a backup PC now hooked up to a 43" TV monitor.
  17. I'll be honest.....if I could go back to X12 I would, but too many projects have been started in X13 and if I ever need to open them I obviously can't. I don't want 2 versions on my PC.
  18. u bet.....I am trying to make it crash now to see. seems to be a success but tomorrow is another day.
  19. Been hearing about this for a few months. Now I know where it is located. Gave it a shot, thanks!
  20. Me too......a lot of crashes in 3d views. Windows 11 came on the PC I got two week ago. I save constantly since "down time" is not an option to figure it out. Time is money.
  21. works for me.......it will be custom built so it is mainly shown as a reference anyway. Thanks guys.
  22. Both ideas work great. I also tried elevation view and putting breaks in the wall itself. It leaves no casing but I can fix that.
  23. True, but I don't want the opening to follow the stair all the way.
  24. Is there a way besides, doorways, pass throughs etc. to cut a custom shaped hole in the wall just below the stair stringers? Something with grips I can manipulate? Doorway works great if it had grips to break.
  25. Terrain may also need adjusting from the finished floor above grade dimension.
